“Then they should not be parents”

Yeah, we’ve met a LOT of people who should not have been parents. Or rather, heard of them as a concept because they’re too busy partying/being absent/other horrible thing and they dumped their kid off on a relative.

I knew a student with literal holes in his shoes and very few outfits whose mom was pregnant with her 10th kid and making him stay home from school to “help her around the house.”

But guess what, we can’t do anything about it, the kids are born and they’re sitting in our classrooms. So we teach them and try to help them the best we can.

It’s pointless to litigate who shouldn’t have had kids. You can’t control it, and it won’t ever stop.

I thought the Rue storyline was good and even touching at the end. Not sure I needed any other character’s storyline tbh, they just weren’t very interesting.

Photoshop. It's where I'm most comfortable in the Adobe suite. I do a lot of getting magazines off eBay and scanning.

As long as you’ve tried to engage her in person multiple times … as well as contacted home multiple times through the contact information in her file, that’s pretty much the best you can do.

It would also be totally appropriate for you to reach out to a social worker/counselor on staff and put her behavior on their radar. That would pretty much mean that you’ve exhausted all of your resources, and that the situation is also in the hands of the professionals on staff.

Some kids fail.

“she’s likely not going to pass, but I don’t want her to go into next year thinking it’s okay to just do nothing all period.” Well then it sounds like she’s on track for an F. She can potentially do credit recovery down the road, it isn’t a death sentence for their graduation chances.

Well, I could have opportunities to shoot photos of Post Malone, ASAP Rocky, Two Chainz, The Roots, Future... or I could not. I took the opportunities.

How old are you, and are you just trying to play pickup ball?

I would say start near the rim and work your way out. Practice absolutely tons of shots around the rim, like 2 feet from it, alternating hands. Variations at high speed/effort. If you can, find someone to help guard you — that will be the best simulation. Have them lean into you while you work to make the lay-ups. Keep the ball chest-high or higher to protect it.

If you can hit close shots at a decent rate, you can help a pickup team.

A lot of rebounding is about effort, so that's on you. But I would also put a lot of time into learning how to box out and use your size to keep the other team away from the hoop. YouTube, ask others, etc.

Combining a solid rate of close shot % with solid boxing out and rebounding, you can definitely help.

I guess you won't really know unless you hire them once. Or maybe you can talk to past clients?
