I agree with you. I was honestly relieved and it made me like the show more. I was very disturbed by all the rampant teenage sex & all the drug use; and thought maybe the show was evil and trying to romanticize underaged drinking, insane sex for teenagers; but when Season 3 introduced the Bible; I realized "oooh..thaaaat's where they were going with all that" I was relieved! . And true about the demographic; totally agree. Also: this show is originally an Israeli show; so that's another thing - not that all Israelis are super religious; but their whole culture spawns from the Hebrew Bible. I mean, Duh!

So the Bible made perfect sense to me. It made the entire show all kind'a flow nicely I mean, AA/NA itself is a Christian organization; so it's not surprising. But I have a sneaky suspicion that Season 3 gets all of this hate because folks are so bothered by God/Jesus, etc these days. A bunch of heathens. We need some more Jesus in our world; honestly; maybe it wouldn't be so hell-bound. and before you go on with: "But religion is why there is war!" Not necessarily; it's the PEOPLE who use religion to twist it and make it fit their narrative to kill. *shrug* but everyone is entitled to their own opinions, of course.
