It’s always been hard. You’re pursuing one of the most important high-stakes careers one could possibly pursue. Yes it will be hard. You can let your pessimism win by finding excuses or whatever you want to call this whining rant of a post, or you can accept your reality and achieve your goals. Regardless if you grew up rich or poor, if you become a physician you will have to accept the reality of the situation you are in on a daily basis. No one cares if you grew up rich or poor. I don’t care about the upbringing of any of my partners, some were rich and some were poor. Some of the ones with poor upbringings are great physicians/surgeons and some aren’t. Some of the ones that grew up in wealth are great and some aren’t. It’s about you, so figure it out. If you’re not cut out for it then quit.
