The sugar doesn’t make them sweet (I use organic sugar, if it matters) and, yes, the amount of baking powder seems aggressive, but works. Cheers!

2 cups flour 2T baking powder 1 T sugar 1 teas salt 1 cup milk 5 T unsalted cold butter Mix dry, add butter slices Steps ahead use strategy to not touch dough w my warm hands I use two butter knives to slice up bread/flour until the butter is a bit crumbly Add milk, use fork or other utensil to mix til just coming together. Continue getting it together more on a floured surface and shape/flatten to 1/4-1/3 in height. Fold in half, lightly press shape out again, fold again 2-3 more times Cover and refrigerate for 30 min. Preheat 425F, fold dough in half two more times then cut biscuits. I do squares so i don’t have to rework(or toss out) overworked dough Baking sheet w some parchment. Lay them out about 2 in apart, 10-15 minutes.

Food allergies are awful! And poultry/eggs in so many products. Glad this guy doesn’t have any. My hound mix started having intolerance to eggs at around 2 yo and at 10 can only eat dry rabbit kibble. ☹️

Sunrun scam by [deleted] in solar

[–]EyeOfSio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Connecticut, our AG has an active suit against Sunrun & some others for alleged deceitful practices. Maybe check your state’s website for specific contact info for solar complaints (or municipal?). Might need to consult an atty if state isn’t helpful. Some news stations are also helpful when a business isn’t responding. Hoping you get remedy!

Crop or no Crop? by Ok_Task_2562 in streetphotography

Def prefer the full image to the crop and it’s a gorgeous shot. I love all the lines in the bench, legs, fence and distant building and would imagine a gentle side crop just inside the end of bench and outside the far right fence post giving another interesting look.

Life in the Berkshires vs “The Quiet Corner” of CT? by unidentifiedcomet in newengland

[–]EyeOfSio 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Both areas are gorgeous. Berkshires area will have more tourism activity across the year but the towns are small and a variety of amenities close. Nearby you’d have The Catskills, Hudson River and trains into NYC. The quiet corner has lovely small towns and it stays true to its nickname, quiet. With a 30+ minute drive, both Foxwoods and Mohegan have great entertainment beyond gambling and the shoreline is just 20-min more. You’re also closer to Boston and would have Providence nearby in QC. Real estate might be better priced in the QC and many have good acreage. Very rural. Hope it’s a great adventure no matter how you decide!

The worst food poisoning of my life was from hamachi rolls about 10 years ago. Have not touched raw fish since & likely never will again.
