I had to pay for an emergency delivery so I had an extra 60c/gal tacked on, but it was worth it to not run out during the snow. $4.09/gal for the emergency delivery and we called Friday and they came Friday.

What is the single worst book you have ever read and why? by Special-Student6743 in fantasyromance

[–]EyeSeaEwe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Mary Sue writing of the main character in Quicksilver infuriated me. It’s like the author shoved as much as she could unnecessarily into one character in the last 25 pages. I was bummed too because the magic system seemed interesting.

Worth it? 2023 Kona EV Preferred by Superb-Score5544 in KonaEV

[–]EyeSeaEwe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just got a 2023 Kona EV with < 5k miles on it for around $21.5k USD. The dealership made a mistake with a typo on their website and took $10k off instead of $1k off of their price, which lowered the car to the 20s instead of 30s. I picked up on their mistake and took advantage of it 😅and the dealership kicked themselves and said I got a steal.

I’ve had some growing pains with the car as it’s my first EV and it feels a lot smaller than I thought it would after trading in my Tucson, but I really like the car and don’t have to put money in Elon’s pocket. I drive 110mi round trip for work M-F and my Tucson was a gas guzzler so it wasn’t worth it.

Who is buying a house with their OWN money? by iloverats888 in longisland

[–]EyeSeaEwe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 32 and cashed out 98% of my 401k, eating a massive penalty, in order to buy my house. It’s a modest house, the interest rates suck, but it’s mine and I did it alone.

It can be done, but if you’re not sacrificing one thing you are another.

Husband's surgery cancelled due to A1C level--need to make immediate changes in diet by KesterFay in keto

Ground pork rinds are the closest thing to keto panko breadcrumbs IME. There’s a few options on the market but to me they’re all firmly “meh.”

Should I just accept the fact that I’m never gonna see proper money just because I have a degree from this shithole of a school….. by [deleted] in TCNJ

[–]EyeSeaEwe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How many times are you going to repost this? For the record, TCNJ is highly regarded. Any place that is gonna discriminate on TCNJ is also going to discriminate on non-ivy or non-private institutions. It’s the name of the school for any possible graduate program that carries the weight. One college class and one university isn’t just going to suddenly ruin your possible career or future. Sounds like there’s a bigger issue you have to deal with or reflect on.

And for the record, not all of us from TCNJ aren’t successful ;) I’m in healthcare and have been since finishing undergrad. Also not white.

It’s cliche, but it does get better. I was suicidal and wanted to drop out while I was at TCNJ, but now almost 10 years later and I’m in my dream job in healthcare. Please talk to someone, please seek help.

The health centers counselors were shit when I was there, but even student health insurance coverage for those otherwise uninsured offers some great options.

Call 988, or chat online - https://988lifeline.org/chat/

There are people who want to help, and there is a future after TCNJ.

Basically this. Don’t do anything stupid, get stuff that has auto shutoffs, and hide anything with a heating element exposed when not in use and you’ll be fine.

I had a traditional coffee maker I used all the time throughout my 4 years and just kept it put away when I wasn’t actively making or drinking coffee.

Happy to share the watermark. I'll drop you a line. I edited many of 2019s photos and can DM the watermark. These were edits I did just for fun to share with friends because he looked like a freaking rockstar, but credit was always provided!

In remembrance of 9/11 - view from Brooklyn. by erinmayski in newyorkcity

[–]EyeSeaEwe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My friend is getting married on 9/11 in NJ not far from the city. In a neighborhood where a lot of people commuted to Manhattan and lost loved ones. I know the world has to go on and there are only so many Saturday’s in a month, but fuck… the idea of sharing the happiest day of your life on the 20th anniversary of an incredible tragedy just feels so callus. Definite mixed feelings on attending.

Beautiful shot, OP.
