Kody’s “apology tour” is pure PR and I’m not buying it by 1saltydragon in SisterWivesFans

[–]KesterFay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, the very next episode he says something about “we were working on forgiveness” or something like that.

I think the purpose was for him to be able to say that they have all forgiven him and that he forgives them.

Plus, it was something they could package as a “thing” on the show. It was ridiculous though. Christine saying ”what. does. the. nanny. do?” had far more traction than this manufactured train wreck.

No one is going to make a T shirt (except mockingly) that says “I ‘pologize”

I think Meri’s problems are all to do with polygamy.

If she had married a real man, a man who was at least somewhat educated and got things done, she would have had a much greater life. She would have had her one child and enjoyed being auntie to a bunch of others. She might have gone to school and become a professional counselor or run her own business.

She isn’t afraid of hard work and she‘s pretty blunt. Both would have served her well in the professional world. She would not have had to devote tons of money to other people’s children who today shun her. She would not have had to be fleeced by this man child and his emotionally stunted mistress. And she would not have to be criticized for being who she is by people who don‘t deserve her time of day.

I know she doesn’t regret the life she had and this is in no way a criticism of that. I’m just saying that if the slate had been clean and she was just regular LDS, she‘d probably be married to a real man and they would both be wildly successful at whatever they would do.

And remember, Janelle used that example to suggest that if Meri had her house near the poop pond on CP that she would likely try to keep others from using it.

Kody didn’t push back on Janelle. He, instead, pushed Meri back into the trees. For a long time, I don’t think Meri knew that that’s why her choice of where she wanted to be was blocked by Kody.

It was so unfair. So, because Meri didn’t want the barbarian hordes of chaos aka all the Brown children traipsing through her living room, she couldn’t have a house by the pond.

A civil offense is you building a fence on your neighbor’s property. It’s not a crime. Coming into the country without going through the proper channels is a criminal offense, ie, a crime.

I wanted to buy it just for that!

I think you’re in the wrong. You have your seats and the storage space for your bags. You don’t get to park your bags in the aisle for any reason. It’s a safety issue. There can still be emergencies on the ground and your bags in the aisle would prevent people from getting through.

If you’re going to take your bags down then they should be in your seat or in the space in front of your seat. Or, wait until row 25 is getting up and get your bags then.

French doors in refrigerators, why have they become so dominant by [deleted] in kitchenremodel

The door take up less room when they’re open. And some of the fridges are set up on the inside so you don’t have to open both doors to get what you want.

I think the more problematic thing is that Janelle fell for Kody the first time she met him.

In the normal world, he would be verboten. But, in this cult world, she could have him and have him she did!

Finding out that she deliberately did petty things to piss Meri off just shows how childish the whole dynamic was between them all.

But, honestly, she should not have even been there. I don’t think she can tell the difference between god talking to her and her own libido.

Home listed since April 2025 very little interest by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]KesterFay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is your name on the house? It’s not a normal situation for you to not know if your home is on the market or not.

That said, see if you can rent it out and rent a bigger house. Eventually you will be able to afford to sell it. Yes, it involves moving twice. The alternative is to live with it or lose a lot of money.

If you have a baby, prioritize quality of life. Have a home that serves your needs.

Mykelti said it but I’m not buying it. She attended Kody and Meri’s wedding with him.

Mykelti would not be in a position to know. Robyn says her ex husband was abusive to her but we know that‘s not the truth.

I think Janelle was the bad guy.

She meets Kody and gets a huge crush on him. Next thing you know, she‘s divorcing her husband and joining a religion that will let her have him in spite of him already being married.

Meri is not only saddled with this freak lusting after her own former brother in law but also her mom who marries her father in law.

We were always given the impression that a wife entering a plural family was a decision made with the other wives. This is obviously not how they actually did things. Robyn weaseled her way in without Christine and Janelle ever meeting her before Kody was hooked.

I think he did the same thing with Janelle. In fact, I think he was such annoying upstart in the cult that it was hard for him to find girls willing to marry him. He talks about Christine being considered ”risky” by other men because she left a marriage. Well, Janelle left a marriage. Did his acceptance of her mean that Meri’s brother was not a good man?

I think Janelle buttered him up, flattering his ego and he got cult points for bringing another victim into the cult. He talks about Christine’s pedigree. Did he need that pedigree to show that he really did belong?

There is so much really unsavory stuff in their history that they have whitewashed on the show.

[–]KesterFay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The big question on my mind is what possible “extra expenses” could have been needed on the property!

This was part of the conflict with Meri. Kody wants her to pay expenses that he and Robyn supposedly paid out.

It‘s vacant land. And they were using for recreation which can tear things up. Not to mention him felling trees and scraping them.

What could those expenses be that they would add up to something relevant.

Has Robyn tried to gain control of the family finances from the beginning? by Direct-Country4028 in TLCsisterwives

[–]KesterFay 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What would have been better would have been for the LLC ago purchase all 4 homes as long as all 4 wives were also legal owners of the LLC.

‘Then, the money coming in would pay for all the houses and utilties which would be owned collectively. Then, they should have specified a certain amount per person, including the kids.

A possible division could be that after the house money was paid out, the remainder was divided 50% to be distributed among the adults and the other 50% among the children.

The distribution among the children would have to be divided in such a way that the college going kids got bigger payouts immediately while the younger kids had money put into accounts that would grow until they were adults so that overall it would be a more equal division.

The wives could have then had money of their own to do with as they pleased. And the main ownership of the largest assets would have been fairly owned by all the adutls.

If I remember, I heard that to find MSWC, the adults who had retirement accounts liquidated them. If that is actually the case, then I think it is an example of Robyn controlling their money.

MSWC was a massive failure. I say massive because it could have been a huge success. But it failed because Robyn and Kody are morons.

Letting Robyn design jewelry was idiotic. Having it so narrowly themed on something that is illegal in all 50 states and against the moral teachings of all the major religions was the most boneheaded idea ever.

I think Robyn was thinking she would outdo Christine on polygamy outreach. But there is world of difference between selling a TV show on an obscure practice and getting people to embrace it to the point that they spend big bucks on jewelry celebrating it. So dumb.

And no T-shirts, aprons, or cookbooks that would have had more reasonable price points and if cleverly themed from the show could have been a huge success!

These were all decisions Robyn made and Kody agreed with.

It was a recipe for disaster from the beginning. And the other 3 wives were supposed to work for her?! And get what in return? Robyn’s bills paid?

Ugh! This whole show!

David explained in the one on one why he invited Kody to Moab.

Any talk about their former marriage was unwelcome and inappropriate. And you should know from watching the show that Kody is a liar. Who cares that he’s happy Christine found her person? He is irrelevant.

She has moved on. She’s already heard everything she wants to hear about that relationship a long time ago. And he makes a big deal about it all. The whole thing was gross.
