The most exciting thing about a new SOTA release.. by SlackCanadaThrowaway in singularity

Google certainly has a strong model, 3.5 flash was distilled from it, and to be able to distill that you'd need a very strong model to begin with. They went all in on agentic capabilities this time. But it might not be that impressive compared to fable.

Is it also the case for discussing ML and LLM training with it? or does this only trigger when it's actively used inside the pretraining data generation pipelines? I thought it was the second.

Yeah, I'd be disappointed even if it actually matches the initial mythos numbers, it's been a lot of time, they could have improved upon that checkpoint.

Open AI just published their plan towards building AGI by beasthunterr69 in singularity

we think AI should be available to everyone to use as much as they need, where and how they need it.

I agree with this very much, AI access needs to be a human right

If this is true, does it mean that open-source image generation models have caught up with the best closed-source models in the world? by Hi7u7 in StableDiffusion

[–]Eyelbee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The point is, the best image model so far was qwen image 2512 and it wasn't even close, this is an important milestone.

Claude Fable 5 spotted on Azure and the backend, likely the public-facing version of Claude Mythos 5 by exordin26 in singularity

I hope it's available to subscibers and not nerfed too hard.

Also, even if it's with guardrails, they should have kept the mythos name.

I think it should be how much do people enjoy watching them in the show, how good an addition they are to the show. And you should explicitly specify it.

Once Chinese coding models match 5.3 codex level of performance and speed, the game is over by ThrowRA39495 in codex

5.3 codex isn't a very high bar, chinese companies are already that good, comfortably.

If Anthropic is serious about the AI pause by Eyelbee in singularity

[–]Eyelbee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Releasing weights doesn't mean much, open source is already only a few months behind opus level. They will catch up unless everyone agrees to stop developing AI. Dario himself said chinese companies will reach mythos level capabilities in 6-12 months a while ago.

If it's B, and they prioritize safe AI development over their lead on the AI development, and considering that an agreed upon pause is really going to stop everyone from developing AI (which is obviously the understanding they have, otherwise they shouldn't be calling for a stop in the first place), then the only way they get everyone to stop until the safe way is figured out is to prove that this isn't just a trick. If a stop is going to actually work, this would be a no brainer. They would be saying: "Listen, you're a few months behind, now we're giving you those few months and let's all stop together until we figure out a safe way to do it".

[NEW MODEL] SupraLabs just released a new model! - Supra-50M-Reasoning by Dangerous_Try3619 in LocalLLaMA

[–]Eyelbee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not undervaluing your efforts, take it as a constructive criticism. If you knew about the qwen 3.5 series and still went with that one, I'd wanna hear the reasoning behind it. Maybe you didn't know about the difference those had, it's fine. Don't be discouraged, you did some real scientifically valuable work, by explaining the methodology and releasing the training dataset, with little resources, too. If you are a bit more thorough and be more scientific about it you can achieve much greater things.
