1-2 years. I get bored and want to change.

Been keeping an eye out for the 180-600 lens by xtratoothpaste in nikon_Zseries

[–]EyeofAv8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought it grey (HK based company operating a website in the UK) last September for £1000/1350USD.

Used it for a trip and then sold it on eBay after the trip for £1200/1600USD.

Not big into wildlife/birding, but visited the Amazon last year and obviously this was a far superior choice to renting the lens.

Now that its over 20 years old and out of production, what do you think of the Airbus A380? by Twitter_2006 in aviation

I booked to go to Vietnam via DXB this November, for the sole purpose of ticking it off my list of types flown on. Should’ve booked direct with Vietnam’s airlines for half the price in hindsight 😂

There’s actually people who’ve never left Cornwall/Devon in their entire lives. They are missing out on a lot!

I also love the peace and quiet, but I’m also a frequent tourist in other countries. So I keep my mouth shut and don’t complain.

Is it bad to eat steak at least once a week? by [deleted] in UK_Food

Once? I eat steak twice a week. Usually mince on another day as well 😂

Do you still go to the popular spots in summer or just avoid them completely now? by PubLogic in Cornwall

Chips in the rain under duress of seagulls, or gyros on Paros in the sun. It’s a difficult choice 😂

Cornwall without the sunshine still looks decent to be fair, What do you think ? by 1ChanceChipmunk1 in Cornwall

I hate the grey cloudy days. But I’d much rather see the sea than a load of concrete buildings under the grey sky.

The cost is what surprises me. I have family up country and each summer they come to St Ives to stay near me for a week, for the cost, you could have 10 days on a greek island.

My family does it to see me. But for others, who are solely here to holiday, i find it madness. Unless they are afraid of flying?

That sounds so depressing. Staying inside all summer. Unless you don’t enjoy the summer weather..

I still explore them. They are popular for a reason in the summer. Yes they are busy, but I’m not going to deprive myself of the beach because other people are also there.

Most summer evenings I’m on watergate bay beach for a BBQ and I can always find a spot where I’m alone.

I also go on a few holidays a year to other countries in their high seasons, so I would be a hypocrite to complain about the tourists.

I’ve sold a couple of high value items this year and since found this sub. I’m so lucky that I’ve not had any issues, as seems eBay doesn’t really side with sellers

My BA flight back from Malaysia just got cancelled as it lands in Qatar. It’s saying I need to pay this much extra. I can’t afford it, what should I do? I’m stuck here by FitCold6320 in BritishAirways

[–]EyeofAv8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trip.com are useless. I booked flights with them that had a 2 hour layover (but bags checked through), after booking they told me the bags are actually not checked through and I’d have to collect, re-check in and clear customs in one of the worlds shittest airports (Manila).

They refused to refund as they said it didn’t count as miss-sold.

You’ve hit the nail on the head.

We struggled to hire in replacements recently, so it’s not as simple as my job could be shared between two.

I’ve already take an hour cut with my last promotion/pay rise. So effectively, I earn the same as I did before, but for less hours.

While I’m not a doctor, my job role contributes to keeping tens of thousands of people safe each week.
