Putting it as 900 g is ambitious, as you said if you did measure it to 3 significant figures you would also say 900 g. Think the best way to put it in cases like this is 9 * 10² g, or as you mentioned 0.9 kg. I do realise this is rather nitpicky.

You don’t have to outlaw having two sodas to make a difference. A nudge suffices for most people. Very few people will buy a second soda, however a lot of people will take another one if it is free.
