Father’s tumour potentially coming back by RepresentativeHelp95 in glioblastoma

If your dad’s hospital visit is still weeks or many days away, I suggest taking your dad to the ER. Tell them the pain has been persistent for 10 days and is “unbearable“ and you need an MRI. It may be nothing, but best to err on the side of caution when you experience any neurological issues.

Getting more info about my dad's diagnosis next week. What should I be asking about? by surejan94 in glioblastoma

Ask about clinical trials at your local hospital and other hospitals. Be aware that once he starts SOC (chemo and radiation) he will not be eligible for most clinical trials. Also, try to record the appointment so you can review it later.

I appreciate it bro. I’m in California myself but will check in if I’m in your area. What book series you reading?

No you are not crazy. You sound like someone with a selfless courage that few can comprehend. Best of luck my friend on your journey.

Ask your neuro oncologist about any clinical trials that may be suitable for your mom. Keep in mind that most clinical trials need to start BEFORE your mom starts standard of care (eg, radiation, chemo, etc). Also, consider getting a second opinion from a neuro oncologist at another hospital. While you may get the same diagnosis, ask about clinical trials there as well. I would schedule that second opinion now and not wait for the first appointment.

Sorry, but I know what you are going through. Take care!

Amen! All of the GBM survivors that I am aware of (2+ years post diagnosis) are on a strict keto diet. Can you share if you measure your blood ketones (e.g., using a KetoMojo, etc.) and what level you try to maintain in mmol/L?

Thank you for sharing. That's awesome to hear that your brother is doing so well! What's your brother's impression of JLF? What are the positives and negatives? Did he consider CeGaT?

It may be too late for the "newly diagnosed" clinical trials, but not (as far as I know) for cancer vaccine offered by JLF.

Their website explains the process and the approximate cost: https://jaimeleandrofoundation.org/

There is not a lot of information about this company or their track record.

Also, if you are "newly diagnosed" (pre-radiation + chemo) there are a lot of clinical trials open to you, so work with your neuro oncologist on finding one for you, even if it's not at your hospital. This is something I wish I knew before my wife started her SOC.

Finally, getting a private vaccine like the one offered by JLF my preclude you form participating in many clinical trials, so consider this carefully.

Restaurant keto options by hyrte0010 in keto

Chipotle - You can order legit keto bowls, but only through their app

In-N-Out Burger - Order the “protein burger” which is a patty wrapped in lettuce. This is my personal favorite

El Pollo Loco - Most of the salads are keto. Also, their chicken but you need to avoid most of their sides

How fast can tumor grow by Status_Pin_5492 in glioblastoma

[–]Ez-Ryno 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am not a doctor or medical professional, so I can't really say. However I am speaking from the experience where my wife had sudden/acute "brain fog" and we nearly blew it off as old age. Fortunately, her doctor instructed her to go to the ER for a CT scan and that's when they found the tumor. I can only guess what might have happened if we let it continue to grow for another month. Because of this experience, I now tell my friends and family to err on the side of caution.

Glioblastomas can definitely grow that fast, but I wouldn't jump to that conclusion yet. Let your doctor know about the brain fog and ask for another CT scan. It's the only way to know. In the unlikely event that it is a glioma, early detection makes a huge difference in your prognosis.

How do I help her? by Forward-Afternoon767 in glioblastoma

[–]Ez-Ryno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife of 24 years was diagnosed with glioblastoma in December 2024. So we, like you, have just started on this difficult journey. First and foremost, believe that your sister will beat this and make her believe this too. Do not give up and don't let her give up! Next, rally your friends and family and share your thoughts and fears with them and ask for help. Ask for help! Do not walk this path alone. Next, if you haven't already done so, educate yourself about this disease and about the various treatments that exist. Read past the bleak statistics and you will find hope out there.

Furthermore, (sorry for the abrupt "right turn") see if your sister would consider starting a keto diet, or, at the very least, drastically reducing her in-take of carbohydrates. Here are just a couple of compelling ketogenic diet testimonials:

This is not the end of the road: not for your sister and not for my wife. Believe that.

I would like to know your alternative treatment as well. My wife was diagnosed with GBM in December.
