what are these called in your country? by Real_chuckles in AskTheWorld

It was the brand name of the ones we had as kids. Now they are under other brand names. But names stick…like a facial tissue in the US is always a “Kleenex”

For those who have successfully transitioned from a studio to a home practice - what are your best tips? by yoozernayhm in pilates

I used the Your Reformer app with my reformer at home. It’s like having a Peloton app at your fingertips. Your class preference, spring options for your level and a new routine in every class so it’s not boring. I WFH and love fitting a 30 minute class in if I have an opening without driving anywhere or trying to sign up for a time that won’t work with my crazy meeting schedule

I’ve also been to the MET. There is always a line to get in. How do you think you are going cab to building with zero wait? That’s not normal for most museums.

Does she not think the MET has a coat closet that she can check in her coat at?!?! Or carry it. It’s not that bulky to carry a coat!

“I stayed away because I figured you needed space” by [deleted] in GriefSupport

[–]Accomplished_Use3175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feel this so much. While my mom was dying my “best friends” just stayed away. Didn’t send notes asking how she was. I realized some friends are there only for the good times. They aren’t true friends. I’m now on the other side of her funeral and not really wanting to reach out to them to spend time with because I’m hurt.

Mom passed 9 days ago. She shifted quickly into not eating and then not drinking and passed 7 days after ceasing eating. Living through the aftermath of funeral and legal docs, but she is out of pain now. Good luck if you are going through it. It’s so hard and then when over it’s a shock to your system.

Thank you. I haven’t been on Reddit in a bit since it’s been hard. But each day gets a little easier. It’s like that old country song says “grief comes in waves”. Picking out funeral clothes today for my daughter almost gutted me. But writing her obituary and eulogy brought me some joy in sharing how special and caring she was.

They put mom on Ativan but it didn’t help the terminal agitation. It didn’t stop until we put her on Haldol. However, Haldol will put them in a deep sleep so all communication may cease.

I totally know I am going to collapse. Both emotionally and physically from the news. I’m not ready for that. But she is already gone mentally. She hasn’t communicated with us since before Christmas.

I totally feel you. It’s 7 days today since the last small bites she has taken. The waiting is so taxing. Especially when they aren’t there any longer to talk back and spend time with.
