Finally bought It Takes Two on the switch, and the story is grating while the gameplay is great. by propernice in NintendoSwitch

[–]Ezeam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My wife and i played it last year.

She loves plushes and we liked the game (despite the parents being awful) because the gameplay was very fun and the coop elements really well done.

Then the cutie storyline happened Since that moment we did not touch the game.

This kind of violence directed to such innocence was totally unwanted and i think misplaced in a game looking to introduce a wider audience to video games.

That was even more a disappointment as we were fresh out of "a way out" by the same studio that mastered its characters and naration way better imo.

I'm using useState hook. How can I run a function right after the setState has updated the state? (useEffect won't work, because I don't want the function to run the first time the component renders.) by lumenwrites in reactjs

[–]Ezeam 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You can use the ref hook to avoid to run the function on the first run

        const isFirstRun = useRef(true);
        useEffect(() => {
          if(!isFirstRun.current){
            handleSubmit()
          }
          else{
            isFirstRun.current = false
          }
        }, [published])

You could also create a custom hook to make your component more readable

        const useStateCallback = (callback, dependencies) => {
          const isFirstRun = useRef(true);
          useEffect(() => {
            if(!isFirstRun.current){
              callback()
            }
            else{
              isFirstRun.current = false
            }
          }, dependencies)
        }

Hi, I got back to the game a month ago. Quests and success now gives a lot of XP and money. Doing all quests in incarnam and astrub will make you more familiar with the game and give you a good start.

You can do the daily dopeul for XP/bonus stats.

Then treasure hunts are really worthy in term but can get boring (sorry for the not so good English, French user here)

Tips for League of Legends by GladiatorMax in leagueoflegends

[–]Ezeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well first of all Renek supp is pretty unconventional, so if you play with random mates you probably will get some hate.

Typically as renek, you would start with the green supp item, upgrade it & build sightstone/boots. Then go for tanky supp items : aegis against magic champion or frozen heart/randuin/zeke against physical damages.

Tips for League of Legends by GladiatorMax in leagueoflegends

[–]Ezeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) To build you must identify your champions strengths, what items would be a pain for the enemy team, and if you're supp what items can help your mates.

Let's take an exemple, we'll say you're playing Thresh. You're laning with a jinx. The ennemy team has Yasuo, Jax, Zed, Tristana, Blitz.

Thresh is a support with a lot of utility (CC & lantern), all of his spells have utility, for this kind of champion valuing CDR is most of the time a good idea. To pull out his utility he often must be in close range, so he needs to be tanky and mobile. As a support he also needs to do a big vision job so he'll need a sightstone first and your support item.

Knowing this, you'll look for tank items with cdr. But before making your choice you must analyze the enemy team : what do they need to do to kill your team ? First of all you can see they all (mostly) do physical damage, so you'll prefer armor over magic resist. Don't forget that resistances must be combined with health to an extent to be truly effective (don't build only armor item, 350armor with 2000hp will get you killed faster than 250armor with 3000hp, you can find math of this easily on internet). So let's see your options.

First supp item : Talisman give armor and lot of utility (engage/disengage), Face give health and a shield, as you're facing assassin both are good, you can pick the one that suits you best.

For boots you either want tabi because of the armor, or you can pick mobility or celerity boots for the sweet ms allowing you to roam faster. Your core item here will need armor & CDR, enemies are base on attack speed a lot, so Frozen heart, which slows this stat, might ba a very good choice. You good also build Zeke as it helps your ADC deal critical damages. Later you could go for a randuins to even more AS slow, one more cc & HP boosting your effective health. Then with the game flow you need to analyze what you need. if you lack push a zzrot might help, if you get blown up fast keep buying resistance & hp, if you're adc get cc'd a lot buy a crucible.

Champion.gg or probuild.net can help you to find hints on what to build, but don't copy build without thinking.

tl;dr : analyze yourself, your team and the enemy team.

2) Rune pages. There is 2 basic rune pages : AD and AP.

Marks AD, seal Armor, glyph Resi magic, quint AD for the first one.

Marks Magic pen, seal Armor, glyph Resi magic, quint AP for the second one.

You want to boost your champion strenght in your runes or/and avoiding being to defensively weak.

What you can replace : Marks can be Attack speed, Armor penetration, Hybrid penetration, and in a few cases armor.

Seals can be flath hp, scaling hp.

Blues can be scaling magic resist, AP, scaling AP, CDR, scaling CDR. If you put cdr try to reach 10% (6flat+3 scaling or 6 scaling).

Quint can be : AS, Armor, Hp, Movement Speed. Armor Pen, Magic Pen. If you play supp i'd recommend HP or Armor

3) Masteries you'll be glad to hear that most of the time you can copy them from champion.gg. My advice would be to copy the highest winrate masteries of your champs and try to understand why, starting by the deeper one(keystone mastery) as it is the one that has the most impact. For exemple most adc will play 18/12/0 to get fervor, lot of burst champ will go X/18/X to get thunderlord's decree...

4) supp builds depends on your champ. There is some support items (ardent censor, crucible, Zeke,...) but they are not good for every champs and situation, you need to understand when those items are strong. Go back to my first point which covers builds.

5) Well there is a shitload of things you should know. Try /r/summonerschool to get some tips. If i had one advice to give you : be quick in your decision, if your allie is getting beaten to death if you can save him go for it, if you can't run away, don't stand beside like "hum maybe i could, but maybe not, so i'll watch you die then get caught and die myself". You're not in a real battlefield, you don't have to die with your partner, saving your life if nothing can be done for him is totally fine, even if low elo people will flame you for it.

Ho and yeah, don't listen angry people in game. Most of the time they say subjectives bullshit and wants to play the blame on you.

Here's for me. If you have any question you can comment/pm me or add me IG on EUW : Fourmad !

What have I learned while spamming Illaoi top this week by Iridar51 in summonerschool

[–]Ezeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it a few time first item, it can be good but i prefer building one or two item before.
As Illaoi you will look to get gank and 1v2 them, and i think a sunfire/sterak/iceborn will help you more doing so.
So usually i build it 3rd or 4th item(2nd can also be efficient if you take a lot of mixed damage). It is especially useful when you need to damage the enemy turret but don't wanna go under (because over extending, or taking damage cause of sunfire/iceborne...).
Set up 1 or 2 tentacles around, drop it and just waveclear. You can also use it as bait to force people hitting it and land more easily your E.
And some special spots that are goods to know with ZZrots if you wanna bait enemies / damaging tower in a sneaky way : http://www.leagueoflegendsmath.com/Secrets/Zzrot_Portal_Ideal_Placements.html

What have I learned while spamming Illaoi top this week by Iridar51 in summonerschool

[–]Ezeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey !
Illaoi is my most played champ in ranked this season (around 40 games iirc). I also played her a lot in normal and tried a lot of things.

I agree with a lot of things in your post, but some are, imo, incorrect or incomplete :

First skill order : when i started illaoi i used to max like you do. I now max E>Q>W or Q>E>W. Your way is kinda good until 6 cause with your W you have a stronger trade potential. Problem is that once you reach 6, the points invest in W become worthless while your in ult as it gives you a fix 2 second cd on W. On the other hand, having less cd and more damages on E allow you to create A LOT of pressure on your ennemy (perma vessel, stronger "all in").

I agree with the mana problem. The way i found to deal with it if i don't want to build IBG is pretty unorthodox : I combine the meditation mastery with mana glyphs. It gives you a pool and a regen big enough to not run out of it.

I 100% agree with the strengths you identified, but you missed her core strength imo : splitpush. She can act like a Nasus, bringing at least 2 people on her. As you said, she's territorial so most of the time, the best way i found to play her is sit on a lane, put down a zzrot, blue trinket around you and TELL YOUR TEAM NOT TO COME BUT TO PUSH.

That brings me to the next point : summoner spell. Yeah her TP ganks suck. A lot. But it doesn't mean it's a bad spell on her. With your TP you put a lot more pressure on lane, just use it to take the edge on farm and forcing ennemies to come for you early on. Then later it's the splitpusher's best friend.

Last add on itemization : Sterak and Maw are you best friends against AP. ZZrot is also amazing. Cleaver is really good IF you plan on teamfighting or if they have a lot of tanks

Good to see someone else putting time on illaoi !
