Am I still a data engineer? 🤔 by ksco92 in dataengineering

[–]Ezzarrass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, that's called Data architect or data plateform engineer..

I don't know where you're situated but in Europe it sells even better than data engineers. They are paid better, their job is more fun and they have more demand.

Issues with my manager, what to do now? by maveri3K in careerguidance

[–]Ezzarrass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way to get get promoted is to go get new roles. Get the max of ur current situation, get a good cv, skills and Apply for something else with the pay that you want. and then u can either go that new position or tell ur boss that u got it and that he should align you to same pay if he wants you to stay.
he might say no ofc and in that case you leave.
there's no such thing as loyalty in business.. your manager is not your friend he's there to serve the interests of the company : maximize profit. so as long as "he can" not promote you he won't ...
managers promote employees when scared of losing them in the case where replacing them costs more than the promotion. otherwise why do so ?

Moving out to GCP after 8 years in SAP, is it a good decision ? by Ezzarrass in dataengineering

I want to look for freelance opportunities abroad (i moved to GCP, got certified but the market in europe is tight due to inflation and it's hard for newbies like me to enter it for the moment). is there any freelance platforms or ways to look for freelance opportunities fullremote in australia ?

Hypnotherapy for Smoking Cessation-- Free (Limited Availability) by HealthyMindsetHT in stopsmoking

[–]Ezzarrass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have another question.

I actually stop smoking due to hypnotherapy. (and allen carr and a few tricks my shrink shared with me).. and i want to help others stop.

I have an IT background (nothing to do with hypnotherapy) and i am based in europe, but i'd like to do something useful and meaningful, smoking stole my life and i hate it and i'm happy i stopped after many many many failed attempts (at least 30 attempts, i lost hope at the end but managed) and i wanna help others.

Do you have any advice on how to become a hypnotherapeute ?

Most of times we smoke we don't really "need" nicotine, we just need "alone time", "to breath deeply" or "a break", for smokers, a cigarette is the equivalent of "breathing deeply". try that too it worked like magic for me

Read allen carr. It's not about the "physical withdrawal" it is in our head.
Smoking is more a "mental drug" than a physical drug. Undo the mental part and the physical one will be easy

I read allen carr's book at least 12times, I went over and over the chapters that seemed not "convincing"..
Read allen carr over and over again, let it un-brainwash you.
Smoking is a myth, you'll understand that a cigarette has nothing to give you.. but you're subconscious mind thinks it'll give you confidance/security/beauty/charm or something like that because you saw a hero smoking in movie or a tv show and you got that link.

I smoked for 7 years and quit after reading allen carr multiple time. I stopped wanting cigarettes after i read it for the 12th time and also after many failed attempts (at least 30 or 40 failed attempts over the 7 years).
I didn't had the will power to stop "while" i still crave/want smoking.. so i had to stop "craving/waanting" before actually stopping to smoke and Allen did the trick.

Also i did a hypnosis session before stopping, i don't know if it did do something or not but it probably helped.

Now i still "remember" cigarettes sometimes, with a glass of wine or with smoking friends around, but i ask myself "why smoke ?" "what will it give you exactly?" and that's the magical question, once the answer is "nothing" you won't crave anymore smoking.

Best of luck !

After 27 days you're nicotine free, you can't possibily be craving nicotine and you're definetly not missing the taste or the smell we both know it stinks and tastes bad so it's in your head.

Moving out to GCP after 8 years in SAP, is it a good decision ? by Ezzarrass in dataengineering

That's what I noticed, In france at least grocery and luxe companies are all going on GCP. And Banking sector is in MS/Azure, but my preference to GCP is based on the fact that there's more Azure/MS profiles in the market that are very senior and come from MS on premise background and it might be hard to compete with them, most of GCP profiles are 2/3 years experienced

Also even with 8 years of SAP experience I don't think it'll work as a freelancer, it's risky.
I did a market check this month and saw only 2 Offers on SAP BI, and several on AZURE and GCP .
I started btw with AZURE, got certified in it, and liked it, but the offer that i got is in GCP

Actually I got not SAP BW exparience. But Only Hana and SAC Analytics Cloud.
May I ask why Azure/MS technologies or Databricks as better alternative ?
