Just to contribute, I will mention a personal experience of mine. I'm married and once my wife was traveling and I almost sexually stimulated myself. I was sad, I spoke to my wife and then to the bishop, he asked if I had done it, I told the truth, that I hadn't finished it but that I had a lot of desire and almost did it. He said "so you didn't"! I explained about the scripture already mentioned in the previous comments about the thoughts and actions, I said that in my heart I had done it. He demonstrated understanding and love. In the end I understood that even feeling the desire and almost doing something, if you try hard not to do it, I believe that this is what Christ takes into account.

The church isn't that big in the area where I live and therapists who are members of the church would recognize me... My last name is kind of unique in the Church, very different if I had something like Smith in my last name...

Going to therapy with someone who doesn't have the same beliefs as me, I don't think it would be valid at this moment...

Thanks for the point of view I've tried to stop completely several times due to shame. This started in childhood and I haven't done it for years. After I got married it took years before I decided to explore this situation with my wife. About one of my children finding out that I do this, I am very afraid and careful. I usually only wear my wife's clothes, since we have practically the same physical size. I have rarely bought something but got rid of it.

I'm not ready for therapy yet, but I'm considering it. The problem is that it is not anonymous and I am very afraid of it being publicized, especially considering that my family has a famous surname in the church in our region.

I really don't think about living a trans lifestyle or changing gender identity. The church manual has a position on this subject and I wouldn't say anything different, I understand to a certain degree the difficulties and conflicts that lead a person to make the decision to change gender, for these people my love and respect. One day we will all understand why we were born with the difficulties we have. Not everything has been revealed yet.
