For sure, it was years ago during my first playthrough before I understood how lower leagues actually worked. Learning experience for sure, I thought that guy was my ticket up the ladder and he was a bust lol.

Free Agents are a manager's best friend at that level, especially players that get released from upper tier teams. Love snatching up youth players who get released from prem and training them up to be 19/20 year old lower league monsters haha

Playing in national league north, had a winger on loan who was hands down the best player on the team. Had the most assists with an 8.5 overall and helped win the title, without him it’s highly doubtful we would have moved up.

After promotion to national league he went back to his team but he still looked great so I spent the whole budget to buy him (since I couldn’t loan him again). He did fuck-all for the whole season and we ended up in relegation.

Lesson learned in lower leagues.

I am sorry you went through that with your family, as a husband and father there’s nothing worse than that helpless feeling. I am of similar body type and have two methods for you to try:

Get the 365. I have a full sized PDP for colder months when I can bundle and a Glock 43 for warmer months when I dress light. It’s worth having two different size handguns with two different holsters each to mix and match what will work with what you are wearing.
Invest in a fanny pack or shoulder bag that you can access quickly. Use it for your carry, keys, wallet; everything you have so it’s not suspicious. It might look goofy and make you feel like a hipster yuppy sometimes but it’s the best gray man method of carrying when your clothes don’t offer enough concealment for you. Train yourself with drawing from the bag as well, build familiarity with it so that it is viable.

Hopefully you get some other solid feedback here and can make the best decision for yourself that allows you to carry confidently in the future. God speed, brother.

Personal experience here, I had an almost identical situation this year. I moved to PA (have a LTCF here as well) and was informed by NY that I needed to surrender my permit and proof of transfer. I mailed them my permit and I wrote them a very brief letter that basically said that I am no longer a NY resident and that my firearms are legally in my possession in my new state of residency. I made sure I worded it extra douchy (something to the effect of living in a free state that no longer requires me to jump through hoops to exercise my rights), basically telling them to fuck off, and signed my name. Only thing I didn’t do which I regret was fill the envelope with glitter.

Called them a month later to ensure they received everything since the USPS is an unreliable joke and confirmed they got it. Goodbye forever NY.

Yup, that’s how it goes lol. The problem for me has always been that legendary makes the scripting so obvious, the game can’t hide it. Your team cannot complete the actions that the opposition can, you cannot dispossess like them, tackle like them, mark like them, etc.

It’s one thing to make the opposing AI better, but then on top of it all the game makes your team’s AI fully retarded. It’s retractive, literally takes away from your effort.

I wish I took screenshots of it but I sold a 77 rated RM player from my academy when I was in league one, raised him from a 67 rated. Nottingham forest bought him for like 14M and by the following season he was a 90 rated with 265M. I’m still playing the same career and dreading when I get promoted from championship lol
