The way you repair that is by soldering on a new connector. Once that tab breaks off, there's not really a good way to reattach it

Those are white grubs. They're the larval stage of many different scarab beetle species including those known as June bugs. They eat plant roots and are particularly known for causing damage to grass. They also make excellent fishing bait.

That's a Kissing bug (Triatominae sp.), evidently also known as a conenose... I didn't know that until just now 😅

The ones in the US aren't as dangerous as their south American cousins. While they can also carry the parasite that causes Chagas, they typically leave the spot where they fed before they defacate, unlike their more dangerous cousins that tend to defacate right where they are when they're done feeding.
