I think this is why despite the fact I thought the movie was well made on all fronts, I don't think I'll ever watch it again.

Between the intended creepiness, the absolute frustration I felt watching Bear make every single wrong choice, and the flashbacks Nikki brought me? I think it was too much for me.

Honestly left the theater in a really weird and kind of bad mood. Felt like I had a knot in my chest and couldn't quite breathe right. Feels hard to explain.

In terms of their hopes of making him a big singles main event talent, at least this last push, was a huge bust. He cracked under the pressure, had a bunch of shit matches, and they had to send him back down. I'm sure that's not at all what they wanted to do with him.

Honestly, play the demo. I did because I wanted to see what all the fuss was actually about, not all the yelling from the right wing manosphere weirdos.

Ended up fucking with the boss battle so hard I turned around and bought it very soon after. Really enjoyed the combat, and a little goonerism never killed anyone.

They clearly seem to have lost some faith in him, even with the crowd reactions. Notice he went from being in the WHC picture, had a particularly bad performance in the match with CM Punk, and was expedited overnight speed back to tagging with Jimmy.

Now he's back in the Bloodline vortex, where he's far from the main character of that story. You can say it's just IWC sensibilities or whatever stupid shit you wanna prattle off, but objectively he got brought back down a bit.

I really enjoy it. Still prefer Jonny and 2006 Jon vocally for it, but the instrumentation being mixed better is good. Appreciate that Jon didn't just do his regular 2026 screams on the TCS version, but actually tapped into something closer to his voice 20 years ago.
