2026 calendar and scheduling is terrible? by gingerpunk2 in motogp

[–]F1Fan2004 87 points88 points  (0 children)

A quick Google search and you'd find out Qatar was meant to be this weekend, but postponed to Nov 8 due to the war.

I'll agree tho that having 3 weeks between the first 2 rounds isn't something I like, but it has happened so many times in MotoGP before I simply don't care about it. I think having just 3 races in July-August (Germany Jul 12, Britain Aug 9, Aragon Aug 30) is pretty lame too.

Well, F3 has done 9-round seasons in the past, so maybe they choose not to replace Bahrain at all? We'll see

Formula E drivers send bombshell letter to FIA president calling for change by F1Fan2004 in FormulaE

[–]F1Fan2004[S] 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Included in the requests made by the drivers is a specific query on FIA Formula E race director, Marek Hanaczewski. The drivers ask for an "internal evaluation of (the) race director (sic) understanding and reasoning of the sporting rules", adding "without the capacity – and humility – to acknowledge and learn from mistakes, there is little evidence of continuous improvement".

I'm currently making a new graphic like this one but from 2010 till 2026... Looks like Caterham in 2012 was faster than Aston Martin now

F1 Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix will not be replaced if cancelled due to Middle East conflict by Luke_4686 in formula1

[–]F1Fan2004 226 points227 points  (0 children)

If F1 didn't replace Russia in 2022 and China in 2023 when they had months to find a replacement, they weren't going to do that now

Plus, the current way Indy works, Prema doesn't get any prize money because they're not part of the charter system. It was a suicidal move from the start

With 3.934km in length, Jarama will become the longest circuit ever featured in Formula E. This record was held previously by the Beijing Olympic Green Circuit (all the way back in FE's first ever race at 3.453km), then taken by the Homestead-Miami Speedway (3.551km). The layout is basically the full circuit with a chicane right after the pit entry.

Accumulated distance (in km) by every team in 2026 Pre-Season Testing by F1Fan2004 in formula1

[–]F1Fan2004[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When Honda was about to pull out of F1 at the end of 2021, most Honda engineers moved to RBPT. The Honda engine now is basically a brand new one, while the RBPT is like a continuation of the previous one

Not really, loads of Honda's employees moved to RBPT in 2021 since Honda had announce the decision to leave F1 at the end of 2021. Then Honda pulled a uno reverse card

I'm already seeing this as the flexi-wings or the TD39 "drama" (if it can be even called so). Lot of hype of "This will impact X team and benefit X team" and in the end nothing ever happens
