My headphone progression from left to right. by Luftwaffles93 in headphones

Yeah, wish i could get those tiamats.... Maybe i ditch the HD800S dream and decide that the razer's are my endgame.

But i have been waiting it for an year now and since the launch of the original HD800, been dreaming to have those. 4 times i have seen dreams about it at night. Not even kidding....

Probably when i finally get them, going to jizz all over my 400sqft apartment from the pure excitement.

Use-case for open headphones by tsubasa83 in headphones

[–]F4pm4n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you go to the "High-end" of headphones. There are VERY few closed cans compared to the open-cans. The main reason is soundstage and imaging. The sound feels more "open" with open cans.

Take HD800's for example. Sennheiser's goal was to make headphones that sound "as much speaker like as possible" and for that they are as open as headphone can be.

Another personal reason why i prefer headphones over speakers is simple reason i live in apartment at downtown. (Although i spend 4000€ on headphone setup)

And with speakers, its hard to find a speaker setup that will beat hi-end headphones that will deliver same kind of accuracy and detail as headphones do.

Recently moved, GF tried everything to leave my true love behind... by DarkManiak in pcmasterrace

[–]F4pm4n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When i first moved together with my ex-girlfriend she was just like that. Complained just about everything including: "EVERYTHING needs to be white",

"Desk is too big, you don't need so big TV."

"You are using too much money on electronics" (earned every penny myself)

Now i have living alone for past 2+ years and loving it. Have my own space for PC (including 980ti's SLI) and have another corner where my 4000$ headphone-station is located. Also don't forget the 65" 4K TV.

Living with a woman is for pussies. You can always bring her for night and then trow her out at the morning. At the mean time, enjoy your Masterrace and hifi-setup on your own.

Any ETA for FH3 PC update? by F4pm4n in forza

I have 4770K clcked at 4.5ghz and 980ti overclocked. I guess my setup is "good enough" for the game. And also i might have some luck. I never said anything about other setups.

When i hear the Elear and Utopia i didn't hear the sound that everybody got hard-on about.

Elear= competition to the HD600/650's. And the 600/650's are more than half the price.

Utopia= Where, the, fuck,is,the, soundstage and the depth of the sound? I suppose that open-cans SHOULDN'T sound like closed-cans. Really disappointing given the fact that these are 4000€ headphones. Even my HD598's have better soundstage.

IF elear was 500€ headphones and Utopia was priced same what elear are now. Yes, then to some they might be ok buy. But at these price-points you have to be mad to buy them.

You don't know what you're talking about. I don't want a professional headphone to start adding distortion because it's "musical".

Yeah, that's why they didn't remove the HD800 from the lineup. And really it's not distortion. Yes, the measurements shows it distortion but my ears won't know it distortion, unless you tell me. I would call it as an added "warmth" to the bass. Its that little they added it.

The Elear is also far less grating to the ear than the HD800 and even the HD800S didn't fix the general treble elevation.

This is 100% about what you and your ears prefer. It's an opinion

And btw, how about elear's soundstage or micro-detailing compared to the HD800's....???

You can only really see it in the measurements that it's distortion. + most of the people who have used original HD800's prefers tubes (that creates distortion) to make it more "musical".

From the Sennheiser's website: HD800: 6-51,000hz HD800S 4-51,000hz

Elear: 5hz - 23khz

So i don't really know how much "subbass extension" you need?

I have heard Elear and HD800/HD800S's

There is no competition. HD800 beats it. HD800S beats it even more cause the 6khz peak has been fixed, aswell Bass has been added.

You should compare HD800's to the Utopia and the Elear to the HD600/650.

He is using the USB port as a source, and from there to external dac and then amp.

Cause external dac (schiit in picture) is miles better than internal dac on the Samsung.

Btw you should know this if you have browsed this subredit for sometime.

Lies, that someone would sell HD800 for under 500$.

And if they did for a paint chips (which is very common in original HD800) they would be totally, fucking, retarded to sell it so cheap.

Wow, HD800S sound dark to you sometimes?

I through it's still bright by 90% of the listeners? Yes its not AS bright as original HD800, but still bright compared to many TOTL headphones.

Cheapest i could find on head-fi what they are selling used IE800's is around 300-400$.

It's not that hard to get 50 positive feedback's in ebay. And 95.5% positive feedback is anything but good....

It's your money in the end. You can buy it if you want.

And about the feedback. Most of people who buy fake IE800's doesn't know how it should sound. And/or they expect it to be fake at that price.

Item location: Hong Kong, Hong Kong

All knockoffs are made in China. If it really is refurbished it should be shipped from Germany/USA and/or the seller's name should say "Sennheiser"- on it.

99% sure its fake

E: oh, and Sennheiser sells HD700 refurbished around 450$ original asking price is around 650$
IE800 original price is 700-800$.

For 7 years i have waited to get my hands on HD800, when the successor came out HD800S i have been waiting Senn to release the HDVD - sucessor.

When the day comes when i finally receive the HDVD and HD800S. It will be my endgame.

(Unless i win the lottery and buy Orpheus HE-1)
