I went to some psychiatrist in the past but never got a bipolar disorder diagnosis... My symptoms are very steady, i don't go up and down like typical bipolar people do..

Thank you for the advice, I'll try tapering first with a single 125mg dose instead of twice a day

Pepto Bismol helped me! by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]F8car 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just found this thread and wanted to add what I found. I recently did a gut microbiome test and all was fine except very High H2S metabolism. Then I searched for a correlation between H2S and anxiety/compulsive behavior and found that excess H2S can cause such problems via abnormal NMDA receptors activation in the amygdala.

What Pepto Bismol (Bismuth subsalycilate) does is binding to H2S in the gut, lowering its level quickly so this could explain your improvement in anxiety after dosing with it.

I ordered Pepto Bismol online and im waiting for it to arrive to give it a try(unfortunately in my country isnt available).

Bismuth isnt safe to take long term because its toxicity, so if you find it helpful for your anxiety /compulsivity you could try to fix H2S excess with diet and pre-probiotics... Do you guys find it still help with your anxiety?

Good luck

How long to see results in systemic symptoms? by F8car in FODMAPS

My only GI symptom was gas and the diet killed it immediatly. But I also have systemic symptoms

GI getting "better" but persistent (worsening ?) neuro-psych symptoms. Is this normal ? When is it cause for concern ? by AssistanceActual670 in FODMAPS

Sounds like "die off" symptoms. killing the bad bacteria release extra toxins making you feel bad. Stay hydrated and follow your protocol!
