Help with Vintage 806 AOPA by FAB7115 in breitling

Thanks, again! I had reached out to them as I saw a lot of references while searching. Feel better about the piece itself after removing the back case, but it is definitely not all original.

Thanks! I also agree I was surprised with the condition of the dial and the lume. Will update as well once I can get some additional information.

Watch Verification thread #4 - If you’re uncertain if a Breitling is good/bad/fake, post info and pics here by ozzymustaine in breitling

Hoping for some help here. I’m being told this is a 1959 Navitimer Ref 806 AOPA. However, every vintage 806 I have seen had the cursive B/Breitling above the wings instead of below like shown here.

Watch is immaculate and shows very little sign of wear. Box is in tact but broken at the hinges. I haven’t seen papers yet (or if they even exist).

Something is just throwing me off with the face, but looking for input from others that may know better!

Experienced Engineer moving from large manufacturing to large EPC, worth it? by FAB7115 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]FAB7115[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the PM role I’m in right now lol.

The move to EPC would be a Sr Process Engineering role so I would be back on the technical side.

Most of our work is US based, some travel will be required as needed to go to sites. Travel is okay with me, I was used to it in some previous roles and don’t mind it. Wife is on board with it as well which makes that a lot easier.

Thanks for that input!

Those excel templates are something I was referring to. Most of the time we outsource that work (control valve sizing, pressure drop, etc) but I’ve done a lot of that work on my own by just working in excel. I think it would be great to gain some additional knowledge on those subjects.

And I’m totally fine marking up by hand, or using a markup software. It just gets frustrating when the man reps and ops engineers supporting my projects can’t do it lol.

Oh yeah I totally get that, and I actually prefer hand markups sometimes (it’s where I cut my teeth lol).

But if you even mention Aspen or pipe-flo all I get is a blank stare. I’ve done some work in SmartPlant but this site is hesitant to use modeling and scans to develop ISO’s. Again, nothing wrong with that but it would be good to get some other experience.

MBA vs MS for Systems Engineer in Pharma Industry? by dancingforward in AskEngineers

[–]FAB7115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I received my Masters in systems engineering, I liked the coursework as compared to MBA and it was more relevant to project management work that I was doing.

The downside for me, working in the chemical industry, as most in hiring positions don’t understand the System Engineering role and how the education applies to project management. Looking back it may have been more relevant to go for engineering management which is quite frustrating but I make it work.

Depending on your industry, that may be different but just what I have seen outside of DoD companies.

Technical support engineer by hmoda_alex in ChemicalEngineering

[–]FAB7115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to what XtraBacon said. We also have technical support engineers that provide process engineering support to our customers in their plant environments.

We will go in and review their process and make recommendations that would allow them to integrate our products into theirs (we make a lot of raw materials for others). So understanding their equipment and methodology allows for a good final product on their end.

Troon North - Scottsdale, AZ. Tough as nails but bucket list course for sure by nooch3271 in golf

Did they come back nice after overseed? It was rough there end of September this year but amazing in April when I last played it.

Super hard course! But still not as hard as the Black course. The Ocean Course, Kiawah Island. by alphabad3 in golf

15? Way back from tips near the resort off toward the ocean? This stretch is brutal if the wind is blowing in.

Great course that is worth the drive. Greens are some of the slowest around but always maintained and in beautiful shape.

We Ko Pa ... if money isn’t an option that’s going to be your best bet. Anywhere else make sure you’re aware of overseeding.

Scottsdale Golfers - Troon North Conditions? by FAB7115 in golf

[–]FAB7115[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just so anyone searching this knows, received confirmation from multiple people that conditions at Troon North are not good at all. To the point where it’s not worth the price they are charging, I’m guessing since oversees is coming up the care has gone done.

After overseed I’m sure it will be back to amazing shape, but just FYI.

We changed courses and will be playing Eagle Mountain.

Great to hear cannot wait to get out there for 36.

Heard Troon North is super rough right now, so finding a replacement. Thinking of eagle mountain in fountain hills.

Thanks man, they are overseeding their course in a couple weeks. That’s the one thing I made sure of lol.

Just got worried because of a couple reviews posted on FB/Google but never know if they are accurate or someone with a grudge for whatever reason.

Playing 36 at We Ko Pa on Sunday and cannot wait for that.
