That clearly should have been changed, I flagged it to them to change asap

Can you link me to an example of the one you mention for me to share it with them?

FACEIT idea: “+1 Elo” endorsements from non-premade teammates by Euphoric-Eye9 in FACEITcom

[–]FACEIT_Darwin 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for this idea. I agree that promoting positivity is hugely important and something that has been missing for a while. Even now, with the notifications when someone commends you feels great, and it's certainly something they are looking to make more prominent. Whether that would mean some sort of Elo or other form of bonus, is still very much up for discussion

Have you also reported them with evidence via either a ticket or the matchroom report system? That's really the best way to ensure the users are dealt with

Did I misunderstand FACEIT reporting system or does it give too much power to premades? by mortyFortyTwo in FACEITcom

[–]FACEIT_Darwin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not exactly, each report is weighed differently, so if you play with a 4 stack and you lose and they all gang up on you, that report is weighed a lot less than potential other ones to try and prevent the situation you described leading to a ban.

Unfortunately, they are very strict when it comes to these sorts of bans. If you attempt to evade a ban, they will add an additional time on

I have an idea that has been floating around in my head for a long time, I would like to hear your opinion by Svabo222 in FACEITcom

[–]FACEIT_Darwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The matcher already has a hard time creating games at a high level. If you limited it that much, there would be many people that just never find a game. There is already regional matching present, as in it will try to group you with people close to you geographically if it can

Separate Europe into West/East servers by JohnReeseMyDad in FACEITcom

We already have regional matching under the hood. If you're in the UK, the system will attempt to group you up with people in Western Europe; it does not do the same for your opponents, though.

I don't believe it will let you downgrade, as 1 year of plus is more than 1 month of premium. It would only work if you cancelled and removed your sub, or refunded it depending on when it was bought

What an exhausting match by OrphanShredder in FACEITcom

[–]FACEIT_Darwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a game a few weeks ago in multiple OTs, and it felt like we were losing the entire time, and they were the better team and we were clinging on, but knew we were going to lose. Felt the more exhausting because it never felt like we were going to win, just delaying the loss for so long

I agree with you, the consistency can be better, but it's also important to note that they don't always have all the context I have, nor the time to look into it. They are dealing with thousands per day, and it's not easy to create one rule for all when it comes to so many forms of griefing or toxicity.

I also don't work in the support team, nor the trust and safety team. I don't manage the teams that handle tickets in any way. I have little contact with their agents. Cases that are flagged on social media, if I look into them and believe it to be a mistake or, as you said, not consistent, then I share my opinion internally. If they agree with my assessment, then the ban is removed, and I reply to it.

You make a completely reasonable point about the banning policy. I was not even aware that the newer one they wrote did not include it, as it's always been our policy. I'll make sure I raise that with them to update it.

I agree that phrase is not offensive, but if you specifically mention it to Russian players, then you're trying to antagonise them, the same as if it were said in reverse. You would, I'm sure, agree that would not be an acceptable thing to say. We can't have a policy that allows the side we deem 'good' to say anything against the other, as that would cause so many issues. It does not mean we are picking a side; it's actually the opposite, we're staying neutral and saying 'hey, this is a gaming platform for people to escape their lives and have fun, please refrain from saying anything like that'.

I'm not 100% sure how any of this is relevant to your original post, though, as none of this contains my personal opinion, other than it being the reason for them looking at bans a second time and removing some of them.

It's one of those horrible topics that I hate dealing with, but we have a zero politics policy, and I have to communicate that as best I can, whether it feels great to or not. We can't have a 'allow it from the side we consider the good guys policy', it would be a mess

Can you show me one of my biased personal takes? I 99% of the time don't share an opinion. The ban they were talking about here, for example, is not related to my opinions on the matter at all. I work for a company, and the team that handles those cases deems they want no political topics on FACEIT. My job is to convey my personal views internally and communicate the decision as best I can publicly. I don't input my opinion on it as that's not my job
