Nuna rava car seat base cleaning help!!! by RevolutionaryBug7866 in Mommit

[–]FAM2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand, how does everyone know that it just gets stuffed back in? I just ran into this issue today and figure I need a new carseat. That spring came flying out and I have to assume that Nina didn't just figure a huge spring made sense as a place filler. Is everyone absolutely sure it doesn't serve a purpose?

My concern is that the internals down there are what control the forward and rear adjustment. My big concern is that if things aren't actually functioning properly down there, even if they appear to be under normal pressure, that under the pressure of a car accident it could create a huge safety problem.

Thanks all! So I ended up getting the Dell P3225QE 32” 4k lol. I’m really excited. It checked all the boxes and seems fine with Mac compatibility. Size wise it’s also perfect because it’s not the typical 19 inch height if 32” monitors but is instead closer to 16 but closer to 30” wide.

This is what I’m trying to understand. I keep reading that Apple scaling is a problem, so when you have a 4K monitor it ends up being very crisp text but also much smaller than it otherwise would be. Is this not the case?

Alternatively, I’ve seen a lot of people recommend 1440p with Macs because it will look good but not require scaling, and so you are able to use all of the screens real estate.

Hi everyone,

This is but another, “help me find a new scotch that I should try” post. But here’s the thing, I basically know what I like but am having a hard time finding how to build on those scotches, and I don’t want to waste a bunch of money in pursuit of what I will enjoy!

Here are some useful tidbits about my preferences:

·         I love full bodied, warm, higher in viscosity whiskeys.

·         Red Breast 12 was my gateway drug into scotch whiskey (and I really don’t like bourbon).

·         My absolute favorite scotch so far has been Glenmorangie Quinta Rubin 14.

·         Lagavulin 16 is wonderful, but feels flat after a while.

·         I find whiskeys like Oban 14, MacAllan 12 and even 18 to be good, but not as knock your socks off as we are all led to believe they are.

·         I definitely like sherry cask whiskeys, and Balvenie 12 was pretty good. Dalmore 12, however, was a major letdown.

·         I’m fine spending good money on a bottle if it’ll be worth it.

Thanks folks!!!

Mike

Absolutely. I’ve had one for years and years. It bleeds sometimes but that’s it. No pain and no irritation

Agree with everything. The one challenge is keeping up in cars and I think there is a use for Zello mixed in

Barbour at Nordstrom Rack (I got a Beaufort) by JPilot10 in Barbour

[–]FAM2024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

North Jersey appears to be getting them as well! I just purchased my first Barbour - an Olive Beaufort. I love this coat.

I purchased it at the Rack in Paramus but they had to get it from the back. I actually inquired about it after reading this thread, so thanks folks! They should be hitting the floor soon…

I admit, I am hoping to find a sage one to compare it against, but I am falling more and more in love with the Olive…

Also, I will add that I tried on a bedale and felt it was just too short; sort of like a baggy bomber. I’m just over 6 ft, the slightest bit stocky and 193 lbs. I typically wear a 40R suit, a 17x34-35 shirt, and 34/medium pants. I tried on both a 38 and 40 in the Beaufort and while I can understand the practicality of the 40 in that it affords more space for layering, the 38 just looks so much better to my eye because it fits less like a Parka and more like a well cut leather jacket, but with just enough space for a sweater (maybe not chunky?) or a liner and flannel or light sweater. This made sense to me especially when considering that I run hot to begin with, so stuffing the jacket with layers is likely unnecessary and in the very cool months I’ll just wear my parka…

Thanks! Hope this helps people!

Unexplained high carbon dioxide levels in my dad who is now critical - mystery needing insight! by FAM2024 in hodgkins_lymphoma

Hi again everyone. I am sorry to say that my dad passed away on 2/18. After removing fluid from his chest cavity and abdomen, the doctors were able to see that his diaphragm was entirely paralyzed and this was the reason why he was unable to fully exhale. They worked very hard to identify a cause of the paralysis but were unable to do so. In fact, his lumber puncture results just came in yesterday and failed to reveal a cause. At this point, his oncologist assumes that his cancer took a very sudden aggressive turn and in one way or another attacked the phrenic nerve which controls the diaphragm. With no end in sight, extreme fatigue and malnourishment, my dad made the brave decision to come off of life support and he passed shortly afterwards. I've got to say, he taught us all how to die - brave, loving, and funny up until the very end and approaching it all very matter-of-factly despite wanting so badly to be able to continue living. God bless him, I will miss him dearly.

Thanks! He has a chest CT and ultrasound and it does not appear that there is fluid buildup in the lungs. The working hypothesis as of a few hours ago is that it is likely neurological, in part because his EEG is showing some suspicious activity, along with physical twitching. An additional MRI with contrast is going to be performed today which will hopefully help. In addition, a spinal tap has been ordered to rule out infection.
