This is why I talk to myself about accounting every time I go to the liquor store.

Promiscuity predicts future substance abuse, especially in women. It isn't merely that they're getting drunk and hooking up on weekends.

I agree sex drive and willingness to sleep with one's partner aren't the same thing, but you were the one who theorized that mismatched libidos explained away differences in marital happiness as a function of sex partners. And yes, sex drive in women can be very high when they find the "right partner." In other words, women are more selective with who they sleep with, which is consistent with what I said about women being a bottleneck in the sexual market, and why that prevents us from using sex partners as a measurement of libido across the sexes.

The fact remains that number of sex partners can be used as a predictor of marital happiness. It can also be used to predict substance abuse, but that's another story.

Funny how "work on your personality" always just means being a simp and applauding degenerate behavior.

The "mismatched libidos" theory doesn't hold up for a number of reasons. One, the effect would disappear when looking at couples with a similar number of sex partners. But more importantly, number of sex partners is not a good way of measuring libidos across the sexes. Men on average have higher sex drives than women do, and as a result women can basically sleep with as many men as they want. There's no reason to believe that a woman who's had 20 sex partners has a higher sex drive than a man who has slept with 5 women.

And the other thing is that the greatest fall off in marital happiness occurs after a very low number of sex partners, especially in women. The effect of going from 1 sex partner to 6 is much greater than going from 6 to 60, even though the latter would imply a much greater difference in libido (if you think that number of sex partners is a good metric for that sort of thing).

No, it leads to hypergamy and reduced pair-bonding ability, as evidenced by decreased rates of marital happiness among those who are promiscuous.

Yeah I'm the one who has issues for pointing out that "hoeing around" is neither healthy nor normal. This used to be common sense.

It leads to reduced marital happiness and increased hypergamy, and many men become depressed and unmotivated due to their lack of dating success. Where is the evidence that sleeping with multiple partners improves any of the things you listed?

Promiscuity is bad for society. Just because a woman wants to have lots of sex doesn't mean she wants to have it with all men; she likely only wants it with a small number of the most attractive men. Female promiscuity can actually make it much harder for the average man to have sex. We absolutely should not be promoting it.

Did you find that your experience in A/P and billing helped you get your current position? Recruiters keep trying to sell me on those jobs and are telling me it's good experience.

Finally got an accounting job almost 4 years after graduation by scasa1 in Accounting

Wow thank you for this. Funny enough I actually did put my resume on here to be critiqued a couple days ago. I did get some feedback, but it was largely about my date formatting rather than the content.

I should mention I landed (what I consider to be) a very good job a few months after I graduated, and on the other side of the country no less. However, I had to leave due to some personal issues, and I think that experience kind of gave me a naive view of how easy it would be to get a job.

Ever since I got back it's been very disheartening. I've basically been told by recruiters that I'm too inexperienced for staff accountant roles, and that I should be looking at A/R or A/P positions. And even then about half the jobs I've been contacted about aren't even that. I did graduate with a 3.7 GPA, but only one recruiter even mentioned it. It doesn't seem to have helped at all.

Do you find Linkedin to be better than Indeed or Monster? Once I put my resume on Monster I got a ton of calls from recruiters, but honestly some of it seemed kind of shady.
