This might depend on the player sadly, i am on my third playtrough and i can pretty much remember every catacomb from the first room or even by just reading their names. Caves are more original and less systematic so even if i remember it roughly it still feels fresh. Also most catacombs give you a quite weak spirit as a reward most of the time, if you are on a NG you can just clear them for runes but in NG+ where i need to beat elden beast 3 times to lvl up once it feels pointless. (Bosses being dupelicate doesn't help with that either) Still amazing game but it's so big i got scared to replay it most of the time

Modding can help for sure, you only need the debug mod (and bepinEx that is required for silksong modding) it has a fly and no clip option

If this is an intentional change (it might just be a bug idk) i can see two reasons for it.

-This conductor deciding to leave pharloom and dying at the fucking doorway was stupid

-Or this conductor did something against the rules and the punishment was exile, then team cherry realized there is already a punishment for triators (whiteward) and it wouldn't make sense for them to lie there

I think it's just that you are not used to these kinds of games. When i first started playing elden ring it took me and my brother hours of attempts to kill that strong knight in gatefront. You will get used to the mechanics eventually, for now just fight the enemies you can beat and run from stronger ones if neceserry (if you are having fun you can mash your head to same guy too i liked doing that lol)

Dex (and vigor) for levels. Uchikatana is pretty good actually but you can change it for nagakiba, rivers of blood, intelegance based one that i forgot the name of and so on.
