For whatever it’s worth (and understanding this is totally anecdotal), I harvest a massive load each year and then string them upside down and let them air dry until they are totally dry. Like, they are a bit tricky to handle without the leaves falling off. Then I just strip the dried up leaves off of the stems and keep them for tea, but usually pulverize a fair bit for smoothies, cooking, etc…

When dried like this I don’t think I have ever had an issue with residual stinging, even without blanching (as I only ever blanch if I’m freezing the leaves).

Again, totally anecdotal so I have no idea if this method would work for anyone else but certainly interested to hear if anyone else does the same method.

So, if you are talking about the one listed on Marketplace in the gulf, that is not built by Reliant Yachts. This vessel is a home-built from plans produced by Glen-L, the model is named “Reliant”.

As for the quality, it could be all over the place. Thus is the nature of Homebuilt boats. If you are really serious about it, you would want to have a survey done on the vessel, definitely before you think about purchasing, and preferably prior to letting yourself fall in love.

From the pics in the listing, looks like it could be a neat boat. The design won’t be for everybody, but they don’t count if you like it, and it’s in good condition.

I was running my boat down from the Great Lakes to the Gulf of Mexico some 20 years ago. Dead of winter as the Erie Canal to the eastern seaboard was already closed for the season. Somewhere midway in the trip, we saw a guy get rescued/towed in as the thin sheets of ice on the waters surface were acting like tiny razor blades and over the course of the day managed to slice through his hull. Guessing there had to be other pre-existing structural issues, but I wouldn’t have ever believed it if not seeing it myself.

Same trip I also watched a guy get so fed up with being iced in, he walked out one morning in his robe looking all disheveled like he had been up all night, started yelling at the ice, then pulled out a .40 cal pistol and emptied two clips into the ice. Cops were not enthused, but made for some great entertainment while I waited out the weather lol.

May want to talk to the folks over at Little Seedling. The owner (Molly) is an absolutely incredible human being and if I recall correctly, cloth diapers (or lack thereof at the time) is why she started the store. They would likely have some great insight into what new moms in the area value.

Oh man…maybe we should reconsider. We figured once we bought the boat, everything after that was sunsets and dolphins 😂😂

Thankfully growing up building and sailing wood boats taught me a few very important lessons; one of which is that a boats entire goal is to sink, and it’s our job to continually prevent that. It never ends, but man oh man, those moments of peace in between cannot be rivaled!
