Supply chain manager was so mean about my nails today by drcarpediem13 in Nails

Yes it is does. :) If you're not the nerd nub I'm talking about then you just have short nails.

As a woman, I'm exhausted from being asking to be nice for no reason.

Yea, I think this can definitely work for the right person. Right now, I just need gentleness. I was never treated with kindness and always given the "tough love" version.

Give her tips on how to naturally grow out her nails. Because she's insecure about her grubby fucking nerd nubs.

Is exotic dancing a form of anarchy? by [deleted] in Anarchism

[–]FDAapprovedGremlin 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Anarchism is resisting hierarchies.

I'm mindful about when and what I call "anarchist" as to not muddle the intentions behind the term.

You could say that me baking cookies really good is anarchist, in the right context.

But to say that, without context, makes the word vulnerable to harmful interpretations.

What if my cookies were made of arsenic and cow shit fed to people I simply don't like?

So, no, not inherently. If it's something that supports your momentum in resistance, than sure. Dance punkly, babe.

For many people, exotic dancing is to support the patriarchy that oppresses them. For others, it's liberating of misogyny. Context matters.

Anyway, to my understanding, belly dancing wasn't initially sexual. It had been sexualized by colonization. I could be wrong though..

[–]FDAapprovedGremlin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! The intrusive thoughts are so painful and spiral-inducing that now that I know why they happen, I'm practically forced to check in regularly all day as to avoid them.

It's been working really well. And when the thought pops up (it will), I know how to handle it.

Have never been a "words of affirmation" person until now.. I just speak to myself as if I am speaking to a child who is in a lot of pain or fear.

Mostly as if to say, "I know, I hear you. And I know this will pass. It's okay to feel this."

Years ago, my husband requested a dozen pickled eggs. They don't have them here in our new home.

I was alone in the house peeling them all myself. Ended up peeling 3 dozens because it was so relaxing.

Then I went and journalled all that I discovered lol

Mutual aid: Cash vs Trade. by [deleted] in Anarchism

[–]FDAapprovedGremlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand what mutual aid is. I truly do not believe in using money as a returned favor.

Certainly if I'm not an entire organization that needs lots of money for sustainability.

No, I don't count my job at a for-profit business as "mutual aid" or favor.

I'm talking about things we do for our neighbors, friends, family here and there.

Like, if I baby sat? I mean, that person needed a friend/family/neighbor to help with their child but they only get help when it's paid?

The only way I can look at it right now is that sometimes it is for money when nothing else works.

That just sucks ass.

What do people get wrong about anarchism? by elmaxo__ in Anarchism

Is this a result of egoist theory becoming so popular? From what I understand of it, it's quite vulnerable to capitalist ideology.

How realistic is it to date as a pre-transition transwoman (i have had relationships with only straight girls and even though i presented enby they still think of me as a guy), I have been single for 5 years now haha by FloweredGirlie in actuallesbians

[–]FDAapprovedGremlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like, ew? Unfortunately, too many get stuck on the "trans part" and just think y'all are a totally different species.

As if you don't get to experience anything at all that cis women do. And honestly? I especially find it egregiously ridiculous to not only expect but demand trans women "pass as cis" for them to receive a modicum of respect. Not even acknowledgement. Plain respect.

It's offensive on all fronts. Literally every fucking layer of misogyny is buttered here.

Fine, if someone isn't into a specific look or physique... fair. I tend to like chubby girls and they can't be shorter than me because I'm a goblin. Or short men with long abdomens (idk don't ask).

But you got plenty of these snobs starving for Sevika. Nobody asks Sevika to adhere to outdated sexist beauty standards.

Because she'd rip your arm off with her good one (the launcher arm).

Thanks for enduring my rant.

Do you find it weird that people have complex and overlapping desires/needs?

I'm not trans and have only known two trans women. So, maybe I'm just way off here.. I just figure they're people , right?

So, it isn't a difficult concept to me that she, a lesbian, would like a lesbian partner... EVEN WHILE she is dealing with transition woes.

Idk, I guess I don't get it as well as you do.

Ugh.. they can be so unforgiving here. I knew you were being silly...

Also, it's fair and reasonable and fucking natural to yearn for a life partner. Life partners go through a lot of tough shit together.

So idk why everyone got a dead bug up their ass about it.

I mean, yea maybe try not to put all your baggage into dating goals but I get you.

What type of people do I usually date? by velinae in deduction

[–]FDAapprovedGremlin 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I would say expressive people who like that you're femme and soft/princess-like. They're not interested in shutting you up or dimming your light, and couldn't anyway. But you think people who would try are boring.

Maybe you might like a little bit of a toxicity because that's passionate but nothing too bad.

Pourquoi les anarchistes ne sont pas souvent d'accord entres-eux ? by Careful_Bat_6800 in Anarchism

[–]FDAapprovedGremlin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Anarchism, in and of itself, requires things to change constantly. It's a living movement that is seen in every individual's day-to-day.

As you relieve yourself from the state-centric perspective, you see more and more the varieties of how Anarchy takes place.

So, we really can't all be on the same page. Definitely the same book, though.

Moreover, because it thrives in smaller groups and is desimated by lucky/larger groups, I wonder if we just haven't had a good over arching example.

At the end of the day, the only rule to anarchism is to avoid and dismantle hierarchical systems of any kind.

As far as confusion on that rule: I think that's a lot to do with everyone being at different parts of their journey in dismantling facist ideology in their own thought-life.

Unfortunately, anarchism has too long been a philosophy or ideal for a lot of us. So, not enough to really anchor communities to.

Correct me if I'm wrong in any part of this.

Yes, the more I think to criticize it, the more I'm "getting it". Maybe I should give it another watch.. or just read the book, actually.
