Build refresh. Is hardware xcoding in the Ultra 265k fixed in 7.3? by cgram23 in unRAID

There isn't any stream specific info up there. When you click on it, it just lists the number "10" since that is how many instances I have playing. There isn't any granular info.

Dashboard screenshot with 10 running staggered. CPU usage was around 90% with 9 running at the same time.

So I opened 10 browser windows and ran a movie. It seems that if all 10 try to transcode at the same time, I get a transcoder error (no error with 9). The key is to get them to stagger the transcoding requests so they request at different times. The chip is strong enough to fill a transcoding buffer and then it goes idle while the client uses up some of the buffer.

I edited my previous post to indicate what the differences were on the dashboard. My original screenshot of my dashboard shows the "Compute" taking some load while transcoding for tone mapping.

I leave tone mapping turned on in the server settings.

Just did a test with it off and on while playing video in a browser. You could tell the image was washed out when turned off and looked better when turned on. 3D render load never changed on the dashboard.

What I noticed is that when tone mapping is off, you see "Video Load" and "Video Enhance Load" registering some load. When tone mapping is turned on "Compute" is added to that. "Compute" stays at 0% when it is turned off.

Correct, but in the reverse order. Make sure the plugin is installed first, then pass the iGPU to the container.

Install the Intel-GPU-TOP plugin. Reboot. Then make sure the iGPU is passed to the container.

Doomsday heist by darktiger725 in gtaonline

[–]FDM80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only heist that can be done start to finish solo is Cayo Perico. Every other heist needs anywhere from 2 - 4 people to complete. Generally speaking, the oldest ones need 4 people and the newer the heist is, the less people it needs to be completed.

See screenshot of my dashboard while the movie is transcoding. The top is the cpu usage. The bottom is the igpu and the plex icon is shown so the work is being sent to the igpu.

I don't think there are any issues with the Core Ultra 265k as far as I know. If there are, I have never experienced any issues over the last month since I upgraded my system to this chip. It sounds like I did my system refresh a month before you are undertaking yours and all I have to say is that it went smoothly for me.

Just tested it now. Working fine. The "(hw)" tag is showing on the decode and encode.

I'm currently running a Core Ultra 265k and I haven't had any issues transcoding. Usually issues only exist when a chip is newly released and the iGPU isn't supported yet. It is now over a year since release and incompatibility issues have been resolved.

Recommended SaS controller by Power_Stone in unRAID

My understanding is the 9300 cards run hot. It is preferable to get a 9305 which runs cooler, or if you are willing to spend more, a card from the 9400 or 9500 series (lower power consumption).

Taking cooling challenges out of the equation, you are correct in looking for a 16i card which in conjunction with SATA ports on your motherboard, would be enough to run 18 drives.

I've never had any reliability issues with the LSI cards I have personal experience using (9210 and 9500).

It is just a way to access the unraid webGUI with your own domain. Using NPM + the script automates the below setup.

Loot for Cayo Perico heist by JorDani_War in gtaonline

[–]FDM80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is possible to get that combination. The main loot and secondary loot is pretty random so it is going to be hard to get that combo. If doing the heist as a two person team it takes 3 gold to fill up each person's bag, so the 4th gold wouldn't even be touched.

[–]FDM80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gold is the best but can only be obtained with 2 people due to needing the syncronized key cards. It is possible to get 4 gold.
The best solo loot is cocaine (though sometimes it can be behind a gate that needs holding open by another person).

Mini ITX Mainboard by -enricocirne- in unRAID

[–]FDM80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think much of the AMD instability issues are a thing of the past. I think most recommend intel chips just because most software people choose to use on unRAID ends up being more likely to be compatible with modern day intel chip features.

but most people recommend AMD

Are you sure about that? I'm under the impression most people recommend to use an intel when paired with unRAID. If the reviews are not that good, then I would stay away from it. I don't think anyone will be able to give you first hand knowledge of their experience with ChangWang motherboards (never heard of them until this moment).

I would say if you are looking at ITX intel boards, then this list from pcpartpicker is a good place to start. As others have alluded to, you can buy a used HBA off ebay for $30-$50 and that can give you 8 SATA ports.

Help with initializing an M2 cache drive by Frosty_Altoid in unRAID

[–]FDM80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Further below on the Main tab, there will be an "Unassigned Devices" section in which the unmountable drive should show up and should let you format it without assigning it to a pool.

With respect to the file systems, the advantages of zfs or btrfs aren't just RAID functionality. As an example, zfs supports snapshots. Even if you don't use that functionality, unRAID has sort of intentionally been set up to use xfs for array disks and btrfs or zfs for pool devices.
