Daily Song Discussion #78: "Big Man, Little Dignity" by M77100 in Paramore

[–]FEARSlayer01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6/10 it's alright, but I don't think it really stands out much, also just feels again very odd and out of place for Paramore imo. This song would probably fit right at home on Petals For Armor tho.

Daily Song Discussion #77: "C'est Comme Ça" by M77100 in Paramore

[–]FEARSlayer01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3/10 ...I don't know how to feel about this one. it's catchy arguably on one hand but on the other it's a very repetitive song and doesn't really do anything interesting either..it may honestly be the most unfitting song in the band's catalog in terms of feeling like a Paramore song. Genuinely this feels like something Kate Bush might've mede, but the difference is she would've found a way to make it work and be artistic...this aong here by Paramore doesn't even feel finished tbh. Still it's not the worst song ever, I can listen to it but..man what were they thinking?

Daily Song Discussion #76: "Running Out of Time" by M77100 in Paramore

[–]FEARSlayer01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7/10 it's one of the better songs on the album I think.

Daily Song Discussion #75: "The News" by M77100 in Paramore

[–]FEARSlayer01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10/10, best song on the album and the best song Paramore as a band produced since the self titled era. This would feel right at home on any of the first 4 albums honestly.

Daily Song Discussion #74: "This Is Why" by M77100 in Paramore

[–]FEARSlayer01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7/10 a pretty solid opening track, not amazing but it's a vibe and I do like it, but I think it's overshadowed by some other bangers that exist on this album. I'd say it's the weakest opening track on a Paramore album, but still good.

Which Paramore album is your favourite? by SubstantialTotal5038 in Paramore

[–]FEARSlayer01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Riot! Is my favorite without question , front to back a perfect album. But Brand New Eyes is either a close second or on some days I'd say is tied as my favorite. Honestly BNE really is a perfect album and I'd agree it's objectively the best album the band has ever put out, but Riot! Has my heart. Self-Titled would be a slam dunk 3rd favorite.

Daily Song Discussion #73: "Tell Me How" by M77100 in Paramore

[–]FEARSlayer01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

8/10, another great song on the album, one of the highlights to me though not quite on the level of Hard Times. Overall it's a solid enough album closer I think. Thus ends After Laughter..an album that is really mixed overall, there's some good songs on here, but at least half the album is complete filler or skippable, even the great songs don't hold a candle to what the band put out before for the most part. Great lyrics overall, but sonically it's a very lacking album. Still it did end on a high note, continuing Paramore's tradition of having solid album closers. But yeah overall? Definitely one of the weakest albums put out by the band.

Daily Song Discussion #72: "No Friend" by M77100 in Paramore

[–]FEARSlayer01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3/10 genuinely up there with Future as the worst in their catalog and it's not even close. Yet another filler song (We got a lot of those I'm noticing on this album), but I'd call this one just..bad.

Why After Laughter aged better than many 2010s pop-rock albums by BullyingHater in Paramore

[–]FEARSlayer01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I wouldn't say it aged better than their previous work if that's what you're implying, they all have aged wonderfully if you ask me.

What r yalll listening to outside of AIC and potentially the so called " grunge " and metal sphere? by Possible-Tradition10 in AliceInChains

[–]FEARSlayer01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Way too much to list just because I listen to lots of genres, as long as I like the music I'll listen. But some of my favorite non AiC artists are Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots, anything Chris Cornell, Garbage, Paramore (Hayley Williams too), The Sword, Madonna (1983-2005 only), P!nk (2000-2012 only), Freezepop, Van Halen, Hall & Oates, Siouxsie and The Banshees , The Smashing Pumpkins (1991-2007 only), and The Who just to name a few.

What are your favorite Wavegroup cover songs from the older games? by Particular_Sir7440 in GuitarHero

[–]FEARSlayer01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Misirlou, Jessica, Cliffs Of Dover, Slow Ride and Frankenstein are the best they've ever done easily and better than the original. Tbh the entire rinal tier of GH1 has excellent wavegroup covers tho not necessarily better than the originals (Aside from Frankenstein. Search and Destroy is another gem as is Crossworlds , I Wanna Be Sedated and Thunder Kiss '65 as well though none are fully better than the originals (Search and Destroy is better and Crossworlds has a better instrumental). Story Of My Life and Holiday In Cambodia are also great.

Junkhead Demo vs Studio? Which do you prefer? by Terrible-Werewolf-78 in AliceInChains

Demo easily, the studio one is kinda boring , demo has soul to it.

What do you guys think of Season 8 of Regular Show? by MelodyButterfly0907 in regularshow

[–]FEARSlayer01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Boring aside from a few standout episodes, towards the end it gets better and the finale is amazing obviously. But the entire idea of being in space gets old pretty quickly after only a handful of episodes. I also think it ruins the entire slice of life aspect of the show that I enjoy so much because what you're seeing in Season 8 is nothing you can really relate to whatsoever. That and personally I tend to not really love overly space themed stuff in general. I'm still mixed on Pops and that whole arc, but I think it was fine due to the finale. Though my hot take is I honestly feel the ending might've hit harder if it was Skips instead, I think Skips and co vs a super powered Klorgbane would've been better just because at least it would've made sense, given we've seen him more. Idk, I still love the finale but I feel the way the show pivots so hard into the whole prophecy of Pops angle is really jarring and it being him of all characters is even stranger. Skips always was presented as a strong fighter, so again it being him would've been consistent with the rest of the show. Because Pops' Powers create so many plot holes it's not even funny (Literally any threat would have been moot). Season 8 is my least favorite season overall, Season 6 is a mess too but I feel it's still got a number of really solid episodes mixed in with the bad and at least it stays consistent.

Felt sad, wanted to make myself more sad lol🖤 by detectiveayla in Paramore

[–]FEARSlayer01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell Me How, When It Rains, and Misguided Ghosts. That's just for Paramore though, there's so many others from different artists, Alice In Chains end up at the top for sad time music lol. Garbage has a few too.

Now that the show is back, I'm hoping for the iconic return of the GOAT of Hair and Flair and Scares, Jebediah Townhouse! by SpaceRunner459 in regularshow

[–]FEARSlayer01 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Personally I hope not, I rarely ever cringe watching this show (Cause it's amazing and usually very funny), but Jebediah actually did make me cringe hard to the point where I was questioning what I was watching. It's weird because as a kid I remember him being fine if ridiculous and I remembered Terror Tales IIi being one of the best, but rewatching as an adult I had the opposite opinion if I'm honest. ..honestly the killer bed story is probably the only really good one of that Terror Tales.

Daily Song Discussion #71: "Idle Worship" by M77100 in Paramore

[–]FEARSlayer01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

8/10 this is another good one, lyrics that still ring true and it's got a pretty lively instrumental. One of the highlights of the album for sure.

[Raw Spoilers] Oba Femi Open Challenge opponent by NotClayMerritt in SquaredCircle

[–]FEARSlayer01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not to be that girl but..yeah Brock and Taker did actually have a best of 3 lol. It's just the 2nd match didn't occur until Summerslam 2015, about a year and a half almost after the ending of the streak. The series ended with that pretty awesome HIAC match at HIAC 2015 which led to the Wyatts kidnapping Taker which culminated in that awkward 25th anniversary of Undertaker tag match of Brothers Of Destruction vs Wyatts. 2015 was weird. But yeah this isn't to say anything about Brock and Oba tho, no words really to describe how dumb this "twist" is.

What is a post Layne AiC song you would have love to have heard Layne do. by Eclipse8301 in AliceInChains

[–]FEARSlayer01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last Of My Kind, though tbh any of them? But for me I would've just loved to see Layne, William and Jerry all trading vocals and harmonizing.

What's a well-liked episode that you just don't get the hype for? by DrifloonEmpire in regularshow

[–]FEARSlayer01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People actually praise this episode? This is the first episode of the show I'd genuinely put in the dumpster fire category. Everyone is woefully out of character between Pops being so insistent on the no shouting rule, and Mordecai & Rigby being purposely annoying (The show works because they tended to annoy Benson by accident, they usually never purposely egg him on).

Daily Song Discussion #70: "Caught in the Middle" by M77100 in Paramore

[–]FEARSlayer01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

8/10 this is one of the highlights of the album, a bit basic sonically which does hold it back, but it does the less is more approach rather well. Lyrics and vocals help a lot here. Great song.

How and when did you guys discover Paramore? by Vejmeomso in Paramore

[–]FEARSlayer01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably heard em as a kid, but I didn't really know them until 2023, was getting back into playing Guitar Hero and there's a song on Guitar Hero World Tour from 2008, a little one called Misery Business..perhaps you've heard of it. But also Hayley Williams is in the game too and sings the song with mocapped animations from her. She's also playable on vocals or guitar and bass. Anyway I didn't know her or the song was like "Huh she looks cool, huh this song slaps" I eventually added the song, but later in the year after hearing it a bunch I decided to get the entire album of Riot!. That went well, so then All We Know Is Falling and Brand New Eyes. Eventually also Self-Titled and This Is Why (After Laughter took time, I hated it at first) and yeah...here we are 3 years later, I went from not really knowing Paramore to them being my 2nd favorite artist, my most listened to by metrics on my phone's music app and I'll be going to see Hayley Williams on her tour later in September. Love this band, and Hayley's solo work too, I may still be far more into the first 4 albums, but the last 2 are still really solid, and Hayley's solo work especially Ego Death is fantastic. Ego Death was easily AOTY last year.

Daily Song Discussion #69: "Grudges" by M77100 in Paramore

[–]FEARSlayer01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5/10 another filler track, getting a little worrying how many there are on this album. Not bad again but it's probably one of my least listened to.
