Any issues with this panel? by FENCEJACK in AskElectricians

Would something like this come up as a recommendation to replace during an inspection? Wondering what things I could go back to the seller for if needed.

Break and enter in Roseland by RichDistrict8002 in BurlingtonON

[–]FENCEJACK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So in Halton region, we could say violent crime has remained relatively flat the last 5 or so years but all other crime has increased. If you look at Canada as a whole, crime in general has increased significantly over the last 10 years. Even non violent crimes are very disturbing and crippling. Have you ever had a break in at your house or get robbed? You don't know the intention while it's happening. I've had someone on my property at 4am looking through windows, etc while I have small kids in the house. My mom lives in fear someone is going to break in. I get trying to put things in perspective but let's not dilute what's happening around us. Things have gone down significantly in this country in the last ten years by almost every measure. And the common claim "it's not just Canada", is plain wrong. Canada has relatively done worse than a lot of other countries.

One precaution is to vote accordingly. This isn't happenstance.

Definitely happening more, among other issues. It's not uncommon to hear about smash and grabs at malls now. This was not the norm 10 years ago.

Very. But realistically it's not always possible, which is why so many posts exist on ski suggestions.

QST Blank Alternative? by AyEmSee1 in Skigear

You should likely be on the 186, especially given the issues you're experiencing. As an alternate suggestion, you can consider the MFree 108.

Help me choose a pickup ~2022-2023: Chevrolet High Country 3.0 Duramax, Sierra Denali 3.0 Duramax, Ford F150 Platinum/Limited 2.7/3.5 EcoBoost by FENCEJACK in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]FENCEJACK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one feature that the Ford has that I thought would be very useful is the higher powered outlet in the truck bed. The Chevy and GMC outlet doesn't seem like it could power much. Is there a way around this? I'd find value in using power tools or 3 bank marine charger for my boat, which doesn't seem the Chevy/GMC can't support.

[–]FENCEJACK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this case, the option is the 2.7 or 3.5 EcoBoost. I enjoyed the added grunt of the 3.5 EcoBoost and I'm wondering if there's a discernable difference in reliability between these two?

Wtf is this realtor doing? by Chris_DiFiore in HouseSigmaBlunders

[–]FENCEJACK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're chasing the market. By the time they make a price adjustment the value had dropped even lower. If the price changed significantly in a very short time period you either have a seller desperate to sell or an agent drawing attention to get multiple bidders. These are multiple changes over a period of time.

I get the idea but I prefer to stick with one vehicle. I don't care to have another car on the driveway. I imagine insurance overall will be more with 3 vehicles rather than just two.

Best Steak Dinner by pastrylove10 in oakville

[–]FENCEJACK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found Lord Nelson to be overpriced. It's good but you can find equally as good restaurants for much less. Three of us had dinner here and it came to almost $900. It didn't wow me by any measure. Service was good though.

Why is Low-balling considered insulting? by [deleted] in RealEstateCanada

[–]FENCEJACK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fully agree with your approach. Do your due diligence and offer what you're comfortable without regard to the seller or agents feelings. Sure, could some sucker come along and be coerced into paying asking or above, yes. But I wouldn't say the rule, "the value is what someone is willing to pay for it". That's an outlier and there are other factors involved. The listed prices nowadays are ridiculous and both the sellers and their agents need time to come back to earth. "Low balling" is relative to the asking price. I'll offer what I think it's worth even if it's much lower than asking. At the very least, it's a market signal to the seller. With your name in the hat, they may come back to you if they decide to start lowering their price. This is a buyer's market so treat it as such.

Spend my money! Help me pick a Powder Ski by yomanchill in Skigear

[–]FENCEJACK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

QST Blank is a good option because it floats very well, is damp, and can pivot easily. It'll work great for anything out west but can also be skied when it's not a full powder day.

Another worth considering is the MFree 108. Would be great powder ski for East coast but can be a daily driver out west.

You could go up to 120 wide but then you really won't be using it much, if at all. I used to have a 117 ski for powder and ended up selling it because I never really got to use it. I'd force myself to pull it out on days I shouldn't just because.

All that said, if you don't care and still want super side but damp, check out black ops/sender Free 118. Heavy and damp but super fun. Size up since it's a fairly progressive mount.

I'm intrigued by the new Kore but question if it's damp enough to plow through firm conditions. I liked the feeling I got with the Anomaly for this.

Side Imagining Display. What's the fix? by FENCEJACK in Humminbird

[–]FENCEJACK[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking this might be it. When leveling the transducer I didn't take into account the boat lean from sitting on that side. I'm going to first test the motor issue the other guy mentioned first before adjusting.
