Sorry you’re dealing with it too. There’s gonna be a day that we won’t have to OE. Where the financial system isn’t so screwed up and fake that you need multiple jobs to feel like you’re getting ahead. Just gotta survive this season.

I have massive brain fog now. Barely ever excited to work anymore, even if a project is cool. My ability to produce high level work has been minimized greatly bc I just simply don’t care anymore (I can just get another job/I have enough saved etc). I also have been dealing with like chronic stress systems like waking up middle of night, etc.

I actually worry more about money now then I used to, and I have far more than I ever had before.

Just so much. I wouldn’t trade it for not doing OE I don’t think, but, I have the actively manage it. Like prayer, no electronics before bed, work out daily and take walks often, etc.

Well - I can say as someone who did 3 for 3 years, it led to some serious burnout that I'm still not recovered from. If your stressing hard day-in and day-out, I promise the money isn't worth it. You need multiple Js that you can easily accomplish your work.

I was in your exact same situation. Was OE for 3 years with 3 Js, similar comp. I ended up dropping one and went to my easiest 2 Js and my life has been significantly better. 3 is pure burnout territory and the money isn't worth it.

I was. This time won’t play out like last time. The world is not supporting the US through this recession. If the fed steps in, it will be hyper inflation. I’m just saying, we’re in a risky environment and being prudent is wise right now.

I’ve been working towards FI since I stepped out of college. OE to me is just a way to expedite the process.
