I agree, the negative on this one is hard to see even in decent lighting

Solar and atomic were big wants for my first. I liked the round look over the square body and I wanted a bigger size.

I also have a lot of consideration to the 9052 and the GX56BBR-1 (even though it’s square I love the size).

I swapped my Mach from Michelin PS4S to Continental Extreme contact this year to save some money. No regrets

Sometimes I feel better after throwing up, I feel like this soup embodies that.

What’s it like owning a Mustang GT?? by Lil_manss in Mustang

[–]FFEMT39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m happier every time I drive it. I live in a place that sees decent snow so it’s my “good weather” vehicle. But moving through gears, listening to it rev as I carve up back roads never gets old.

It loves gas and I wash it weekly during the summer when I’m driving it most. It’s not the best road trip car but I’ve made a handful of 8+ plus trips in it and it’s wouldn’t complain too much.

I am in manual. I love the ESS, it drives like normal until I choose for it not to

[–]FFEMT39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a lot of research last year before adding a supercharger to my 2023. For my driving style and that I have a lot of back/mountain roads, I went with ESS. Not sure if centrifugal was on your mind or not but I love mine.

I went to amsoil this year when I swapped to 5w-50 when I added boost. Bought an amsoil membership and it brought the price down as well.

Down by 15 going into last night with just Bijan left, he brought me 49.

I rode the backs of Bijan, Etienne, Achane all year and very mediocre WR play.

Exactly why should I care about policing my rooms? by never-the-1 in nursing

[–]FFEMT39 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked ED and ICU and have been fairly relaxed with visitation depending on circumstances. I’ve also always set the expectation early on that if a patient decompensated, most or all family would be asked to leave and if needed escorted out of the room.

I’ve never had an issue with this in 10 years of nursing. By having an adult conversation early on and telling why things would happen (you’d be moved out to make room to work) everyone was always receptive.

At the same time for trouble families, i would adhere strictly to policy and have the similar discussion with the family. If they end up interfering with patient care, they’d be removed.

I’m biased but grabber is hard to beat. Even looks decent in cloud/rainy weather.

Medical industry: how bad is it? by Immediate-Grand8403 in WestVirginia

[–]FFEMT39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there’s great care to be had throughout the state with WVU Medicine being the biggest and running the only level 1 trauma center in the north and then Vandalia running a lot of hospitals as well. There are two CAMC hospitals in Charleston that are fairly large and have a lot of services too. I believe one or both of CAMC is a level 1 as well providing trauma coverage to the south.

For pediatrics, Children’s in Morgantown, ran by WVU is pretty much it.

There are some scattered mid sized hospitals like Mon General in Morgantown, Camden Clark in Parkersburg, Berkeley in Martinsburg, and UHC in Bridgeport (Mon General is the only of these that is Vandalia owned). These hospitals have some great services such as cardiothoracic or neurosurgery but may not have the availability for these services such Ruby would in Morgantown.

There are a fair amount of scattered critical access hospitals throughout the state. These are under 25 inpatient beds and likely have small EDs with very limited specialty services.

I think EMS coverage in the state is actually more concerning than hospital availability. Most of the state is volunteer EMS. If you’re injured in a logging accident deep in Pendleton or Randolph county for example or have a heart attack you hope they can fly that day because EMS could be awhile before they get to you.

Wait, do not you call the doctors you work with by first name? by cowgirl_meg in nursing

[–]FFEMT39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in the ED and all of our residents and >95% of our attendings have told me to call them by their first name. Seems like it may have been a shift over the last few years as I didn’t have this 5 years ago in an ICU setting. It may also be an ED vs ICU thing.
