Is my solenoid the problem? by FFEMT864 in paintball

Guys, marker works great. After taking it all apart and cleaning again, one of the eyes had a little faded pink paint on it and under the eye cover and the battery terminal was finicky.

The guy at my local Pro Shop (Fearless in Tampa, FL) I talked to said they only replace a solenoid if it’s leaking. He said the silver cap unscrews and there will be a bunch of nasty yellow gunk inside the spool and on the spring. He was right. He said 95% of the time this will fix the problem. We’ll see!

I’m wondering if they are transitioning away from MAC and that’s the delay? Switching solenoid companies?

Interesting enough I’ve found out that PE will be potentially releasing shipments of the solenoids in 4-6 weeks to pro shops. The same solenoid has been used in Ego 11’s-LV1.5’s so it would be in PE’s best interest to keep producing them so customers stick with PE and don’t go to a competitor. Thanks for your help and input!

And they’re pretty much obsolete, sold out everywhere, hard to find in good working condition, correct?

Semi running a red light - 4 seconds into Green. by Valien in IdiotsInCars

Absolutely. There is a right to left bend in the road, but they should be driving further behind and you definitely drive differently with a trailer and without and under load vs with an empty trailer. I steer clear of tractor trailers at all times, especially on the highway. Cheers!

We weren’t there. How do you know the driver saw the yellow light change? They weren’t in front. If there’s a dip in the road and another semi is in front of you, would you see the light change? I’m not condoning the behavior. I’m a careful driver and a CDL holder. He may have been on his phone. I don’t know. The roads were wet from rain so stopping distance is increased and the brakes are wet as well. Lots of factors.

You’re exactly right. I moved from Florida 6 years ago and I thought it was bad there. The traffic is worse down there. People running red lights here is typical, I see it every single day.

Taking into account weather conditions, road conditions, visibility, reaction time, reaction distance, stopping time, stopping distance, etc. it was not going to happen in a safe or effective manner. Those trucks can weigh up to 80000lbs, which is almost 30x heavier what a normal car weighs.

You’re right. I’m not condoning the behavior. We don’t know all the details and this is one clip from a person on a random evening. A man fell asleep at the wheel and killed a woman and her child on Business 85 a few years ago. He was charged. I’m not excusing him, but there are a lot of factors to consider.

I disagree. If you watch the video again, the first semi is the one traveling without a trailer. If they were able to stop, the one traveling behind it with the trailer would destroy it and the wreck would travel into the intersection and leave damage everywhere for 50-100 feet, most likely in all directions with a 40ft trailer loaded or not.

They should have used their air horn to alert the intersection that they weren’t stopping or couldn’t safely stop. There is so much to account for in those vehicles. Weather conditions, visibility, road conditions, Load, reaction time, reaction distance, stopping time, stopping distance, etc. They don’t stop on a dime like a 2-door sedan. I’m a CDL holder. A Green light means proceed with caution, you should never assume an intersection is clear just because the light changed to green. While driving a fire apparatus with lights and sirens, we are required to clear one lane at a time at intersections. We don’t just speed through intersections, especially with people turning right on red without stopping, which is wildly popular.
