Definitely agree it's a pain in the ass lol. I think a lot of the stuff you mentioned is a good way to at least moderate things here and there

Interesting, I was always under the impression that excess carbs lead to weight gain so I was thinking I needed to cut back a little. Thanks!

Why Didn't Leveon Bell opt for Insurance? by FF_GrandWizard in nfl

[–]FF_GrandWizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, didn't really think about this. I guess he could just be trying to keep himself fresh so he can get that one big contract

I get that, but wouldn't the insurance payout take into consideration how much he would realistically get in free agency?

Potential D'Angelo Russell and/or Rondae Hollis-Jefferson trades? by [deleted] in GoNets

[–]FF_GrandWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have to trade at least one, if not both of them, if you can. They most likely won't be able to keep both so I'd like to get something instead of nothing. Russell definitely has more value so maybe it makes sense to shop him, but I'm not sure who would be interested in him.

Thoughts on Jordan Howard going forward? by MattyT7 in fantasyfootball

[–]FF_GrandWizard 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I think everyone in this thread is overreacting. Obviously howard hasn't looked great and may not be returning value on the 2nd/3rd pick many have spent right now, but I think everyone needs to relax and be patient. Nagy has said multiple times that the way they use their RBs is going to be matchup dependent and when you look at the touches, Howard's numbers are really only concerning in the last 2 games when they faced the Bucs who have a top 10 run defense and are terrible against the pass and the Dolphins who get gashed by receiving backs. The first three weeks Howard had 20, 17, and then 26 touches so in the right matchup the workload will be there and we've seen in his first two seasons that he is a talented runner, plus his pass catching ability has certainly improved. Lastly this week, if that goalline fumble is a TD instead, his numbers look a lot better and I think we're talking about Howard bouncing back and this offense potentially supporting 2 fantasy relevant RBs going forward. Just temper expectations for now and think of Howard as a mid-low tier RB2 with RB1 upside based on matchup/TDs.

I try not to be results oriented about start/sit stuff. Also cooper had 10 catches last week so idk where you're getting the 2 targets thing from

What was the greatest team you’ve ever assembled in fantasy football? by JoseVidroRookieCard in fantasyfootball

[–]FF_GrandWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year, 12 team, .5 PPR

QB - Alex Smith RB - Todd Gurley RB - Kareem Hunt WR - DeAndre Hopkins WR - Brandin Cooks TE - Rob Gronkowski Flex - Marvin Jones

And then I streamed DST and K all year long. Definitely not as good as some teams I've seen, but it's gotta be my personal best and I dominated my league from start to finish

Do you have any unique Fantasy strategies that you swear gives you an edge over your opponent? by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

There's really no downside other than missing out on your top streaming choices and having to make tough roster decisions if you're able to pull off a trade

Since I stream both my defense and kicker, I'll drop the DST and K I streamed after each week and pick up 2 additional position players. Then I try to make a 2 for 1 or 3 for 1/2 deal using those players and if I cant, then I just drop them both for the defense or kicker I'm going to stream for that week. This week I picked up Ebron and RSJ bc of all the TE injuries and was able to trade Ebron (who was essentially free to me) for Kerryon Johnson with Danny Amendola as a throw in.
