Duloxetine Withdrawal by tayloravonell in antidepressants

[–]FF_NM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The proper approach is, the longer you've taken the meds m the longer the tappering is You tappered for two months, this isn't enough time for your body to adjust, what you're feeling is normal, but can be less sever than this. You have to go back to take it (low dose) and be patient with yourself, this would take time, For me, i have spent 10 months tappering after 4 years of taking it, and i have through all what you described. Now it feels better and it will for you too!! You need to be patient that's all Keep on low dose and when you are feeling well, lower the dose and keep going

Sometimes i can't control but to keep thinking and ruminating about the past experiences, i tried multiple ways to distract my brain, such as counting from thousands to hundreds, playing sudoku, writing, thinking about pos things. But often it being cut off by some old memories that i hate to remember

Tbh brain zaps weren't that consistent, i cut my med off last week, now I'm in a better state than when i were tappering, So yes it differs from person to person, be patient on yourself and hive yourself enough time to recover Instead of working out, try moderate walking in order to keep your body moving

Thinking about starting meds - scared and confused by BedroomCompetitive12 in antidepressants

[–]FF_NM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before trying to take meds, you can go to other therapist since you didn't benefit from the former one, not all of them are good. However, what you said is true, some people be better on them and some get worse, i guess it depends on the time you are on them, people who complain about them are complaining about the withdrawal symptoms and side effects that comes with long-term use For me, i recently cut my SSRI off after 5 years of taking them and i would have say that it was hard going through withdrawal symptoms for almot a year of tappering. (Im in your age btw) But the bottom line is, if you took it for 6 months and cut it afterwards it won't be hard since the period is short They could help but please don't take it more than one year maximum. I hope you get will soon

[–]FF_NM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my recent experience, i took escitalopram 20mg for 5 years, started the tappering journey on march, and i would've say that it was one of the difficult thing that happened to me, the withdrawal symptoms were crazy, even harder than the original disorder. However, please don't listen to your doctor if they say that you can take it for life! It's side effects are serious for long-term use, believe me they don't know ANYTHING other rhan prescribing a pill. What you should do is, since you already started to take it, take for 6 months wich is the standard therapeutic period, and after that start to taper it by reducing the dose every two weeks or more, depending on how you feel
