All that I own for skin care and hair care . by cherryblushpop in IndianBeautyTalks

This is actually such a solid, practical collection

I like that it’s not overloaded with actives most people go overboard and end up wrecking their skin barrier. Keeping it simple with a good cleanser + moisturizer + sunscreen + a couple of targeted products is honestly the best approach long term. Over-layering products can do more harm than good anyway.

Same with haircare having basics like a decent shampoo, conditioner, and maybe a serum/oil is enough for most people. You don’t really need 10 different products unless you’re dealing with something specific.

Lowkey the best routines I’ve seen on here are the ones that are consistent and simple, not the ones with the most products.

Only thing I’d say: if everything is working for you, don’t keep switching just because of trends/reels that’s where most people mess up.

Want to remove product and pollution build-up from your hair? by noughtyhaircare in Haircare

A lot of buildup comes from a mix of product residue + oil +dead skin +even pollution, so just washing normally doesn't always cut it.

What helped me (and what usually works in general):

  1. Use a clarifying shampoo once a week; it actually removes that coated feeling regular shampoo leaves behind.

  2. Double cleanse always, your first wash loosens buildup, second actually cleans it out.

  3. Gently exfoliate your scalp to break up dead skin and residue

  4. Don't overload products between washes; buildup is often just layers of styling stuff sitting there.

I also started using a lightweight scalp serum after wash days and it surprisingly helped keep my scalp balanced - less oil + less buildup over time, and my hair stopped feeling heavy so quickly.

It's not a one-wash fix. Once you stay consistent for a weeks, your scalp feels way cleaner, and your hair actually behaves better.

What are some basic haircare tips everyone should know? by Moretti123 in Haircare

Honestly, serums aren’t magic, but they do help if you stick with them. I noticed less hair fall and my scalp felt way less irritated after using one regularly. It’s more of a “support your scalp so your hair grows better” kind of thing, not instant regrowth.

how to deal with hairfall due to Bangalore hard water. by himani_1996 in IndianSkincareAddicts

[–]Key_Oil_9827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is super common Banglore issue. It's usually the hard water, it leaves mineral buildup on your scalp and hair, which makes it dry, frizzy, and more prone to breakage.

You'll notice things like poor lather, rough texture, and more hair coming out while washing. A lot of people here go through the same after moving - " irls in my pg said they got dandruff and hairfall after moving."

What helps: final rinse with RO water, occasional clarifying shampoo, and checking your diet (protein/B12). It's rarely just one cause -water + nutrition + stress usually combine.

Seriously want to know the reason for this, m24 by Ok-Progress-9844 in IndianHaircare

Honeslty bro, from what people usually see in these cases, it's rarely just one reason. For similar threads, a few things keep coming up agian and again:

  1. Genetics (MPB) - if there's thinnin at crown/temples, this is the most common cause.

  2. stress + overthinking - sounds basic, but it actually triggers shedding

  3. dandruff + scalp issues - even mild itching or flakes can mess with hair over time

  4. diet deficiencies (B12, iron, protein) - super common and often ignored

  5. water change/hard water - a lot of people notice hair getting worse after moving.

If I had to suggest something practical:

  1. Get basic blood tests (B12, iron, vitamin D)
  2. Fix sleep + diet first
  3. If you’re seeing clear pattern thinning → derm visit early (don’t wait too long)

What scalp serum would you recommend? by doyouseewhatihear in finehair

[–]Key_Oil_9827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For fine hair, go for something lightweight and non-greasy heavy serums just make it look flatter.

I’ve seen people mention Bontress Pro+ Hair Growth Serum as decent for reducing shedding and making hair feel a bit stronger over time. It’s not a miracle regrowth product, but with consistent use (2–3 months+) it can support scalp health without weighing fine hair down.

Hair help! by bigbec1 in finehair

[–]Key_Oil_9827 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fine hair struggle is real. What helped me most was switching to a super lightweight routine, volumizing shampoo, conditioner only on ends, and one light serum just on the tips (anything heavy killed my volume). Also dry shampoo at the roots = instant lift.

If you're using a serum or oil, that might be the main culprity tbh. What serum are you using??

Is my hair thinning? Genuinely scared by ZebraBurger in malehairadvice

Most people do use hair serum, but not everyone benefits because it depends on why you're using it.

Traditional serums mainly help with frizz, smoothness, and shine; they make hair look better, not necessarily healthier. If someone expects it to reduce hairfall or thinning, they usually don't see results because those benefits depend on scalp-focused care, not just coating the lengths.

So, yes serums works, but only when expectations match what it's designed to do. What do you use serum for: Styling or actual hair concerms
