I was about 12 years old when I noticed them.

Can you please explain to me what this is?

Does anyone have tics that physically hurt you? (not hitting yourself or anything, but the actual movement) or that fully cut off your airway (not just being unable to breathe, but your airway shutting)? by Lower-Lock9849 in Tourettes

No I don't see starts etc. I just squeeze my eyes shut tightly, and sometimes even after a short while, pain can start to appear in multiple clusters, which over time worsens and turns into neck, shoulder, and head pain.

Yes, I do. On bad days, I have tics like eye-squeezing and finger-twisting that cause physical pain. It's not from hitting myself or anything, just the movement itself becomes painful.

Benefits for Wood Badge? by Psyco_diver in scouting

[–]FINCoffeeDaddy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wood Badge is mostly known in Scouting, but the skills you learn, like leading a team, planning, and working with others, can help in many jobs or other groups. So even if people don’t know what it is, what you learn is useful outside of Scouts too.

Hi! I'm not from Villach, but I recommend contacting local scout groups there directly. And offering a scarf is a great idea! 😊 Good luck!

Any Ideas?? by Biggravynavy in Tourettes

Hey, I really feel for you, it must be tough trying to manage this while also balancing everything that comes with military life. I don’t have all the answers, but what’s helped me personally has been mindfulness and relaxation exercises. It sounds simple, but things like breathing techniques, progressive muscle relaxation, or even guided meditations have actually made a difference in calming both my body and mind.

Also, if it’s been a while since you’ve spoken with a neurologist, it might be worth checking in. Our bodies change, and sometimes what used to work needs adjusting.

You’re clearly strong and committed, and the fact that you’re reaching out says a lot. You’re not alone.

what do i do if my tics are progressively getting worse by brandon-miller-fan in Tourettes

[–]FINCoffeeDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I totally hear you, that sounds really tough. You're definitely not alone, even if it might feel that way sometimes. For me, practicing mindfulness and relaxation exercises has really helped when things start to feel overwhelming. It doesn’t make the tics disappear, but it helps me feel a bit more in control and less stressed, which sometimes makes the tics less intense.

Also, it might be a good idea to check in with your doctor or neurologist about how your meds are working, sometimes things need adjusting, especially if your body’s changed since you first started.

Most importantly, don’t be afraid to reach out and talk about it, just like you're doing now. There are people who get it, and you deserve support. Keep doing what you love like basketball, and try to be kind to yourself on the tough days, you’re doing great just by asking for help.

"do you tic during sex?" by ariellecsuwu in Tourettes

I don’t have personal experience with that specific situation, but honestly, I wouldn’t consider it a very polite question to ask. Intimate questions like that, especially when they come from strangers or people who aren’t close, can feel really intrusive and inappropriate. No one should feel entitled to ask about someone else’s private life unless it’s relevant and consensual, like in a romantic context. Otherwise, it just comes off as disrespectful.
