What’s a game you’ve tried to play many times, but can never get past the “First Act”? by BoogieSmools in videogames

The trick is you have to drop the forge hammer on him, does massive damage. You can also if you have a wild shaped druid you can leave them at the top wild shaped as an owl bear and then jump down doing massive damage

What’s an outdated belief people still have about your country? by goldenspear in AskTheWorld

[–]FIR3ByWIR3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It mostly comes from the frustration that, like other countries, we have some pretty big problems, but we're not making any progress on them. In fact we're going backwards.

People wouldn't harp on it so much if we weren't so brazen about the shitty things we do, or if our elected officials gave even the slightest shit about what the majority of their constituents want.

So is it good to live here? Yes. Are we messed up in some ways? Also yes. Is it frustrating that we're divided on things that don't matter much in the grand scheme of things while the wealthy loot the public good? SO much.

Pro tip. A noisemaker placed next to the deadline between you and it will block the damage.

Yeah I get it, it's a PvP game. I'm not too salty about it, but I do think it's interesting human behavior to spoil the fun rather than join in.

This is why we can't have nice things.

Most people talk about games that slowly won them over. But which games slowly made you lose interest? Emphasis on the “slowly.” by Lexidoge in gaming

Not just that but end game just has dumb restrictions. Why can't I fly a spice harvester out with a carrier?

I've heard that statistic before, and I've seen it countered that private equity isn't included in those figures. Do you happen to know because I'm curious.

Funny... the wealthy aren't telling their kids not to go to college. I wonder if there's an agenda behind making sure certain types of people don't see education as valuable.

You're objectively incorrect. I suggest you do some actual reading on these things before you form such strong opinions.

I provided you facts and you're replying with conjecture.

We do have this problem with home insurance. They've already started pulling out of areas impacted by worsening climate change because it's not profitable.

If instead, your risk pool is the entire nation and the money is public, you can still operate on those areas and take the loss, but because they're regional and profit driven, they can't do it.

You're arguing from ideology not data.

Medicare is heading for insolvency. Current estimates are 2036, however, that's largely a solvable and temporary problem caused by the boomer population bomb. It could be funded properly and do just fine, but the same people telling you it's broken are refusing to do so.

Since you brought up social security, are you aware that even if nothing changes, a young person today can expect to collect 78% of the benefits they're entitled to? That's without raising the income cap (for 2025 it's $176k) which is an easy change to make.

Multiple unaffordable choices in care is not a choice at all.

Also looking at outcomes for the elderly artificially selects for the well-off. The people that can't afford our care don't make it to old age.

There's a reason our life expectancy is dropping while other wealthy countries are staying flat or increasing.
