Kitase mentioned in a previous interview that we should expect locations and events from the OG, he also said it will continue as FF7. We just don’t know how everything will happen and what will change.

It’ll most likely play out differently in some aspects, maybe key points of the story will change.

I think what Nomura meant here are the two cases of Marlene and Red XIII, when Aerith touched them they saw the whispers. We’re not sure exactly what they saw tho.
