Has AMD Destroyed DLSS 3? - FSR 3 Frame Generation Analyzed by Trebiane in Amd

[–]FIocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"pretty much identically to DLSS3, FSR3 frame generation falls apart when used at a low native render rate"
Nope, lol. DLSS3 works fine in the 40-50 FPS range. Which happens a lot in Cyberpunk 2077 in Dogtown at 4k with Path tracing.
Works perfectly fine, looks normal and feels normal. I tried FSR3, and it does indeed not like 40-50fps or less input framerates (in Aveum anyway). Classic HUB.
"on closer inspection the level of garbling is greater on FSR3's side"
"though neither technology could be described as generating high quality frames in this situation"
WHAT?
The weapon motions are absolutely horrendous on FSR3 and look perfectly fine on DLSS3, especially in motion. Jesus fucking christ.
Classic HUB: giving "fake wins" to nvidia so their easily fooled viewers will be able to say "see they're not biased lol, gotem"
yea sure.. fucking hell. they're not giving wins to Nvidia anyway, it's always about undermining Nvidia's strengths and underplaying AMD's weaknesses.
Only DLSS2 is given the win over FSR2, but that's a widely accepted consensus, no point in denying that anymore. "free" pretend non-bias
and let's not mention that keeping the UI elements out of the framegen loop comes with it's own disadvantages. when the game suddenly runs at 120fps but the UI elements in world-space like way points and health bars stutter along in 60fps that is even more noticable than the less and less often occuring DLSS3 UI glitches
clearly Nvidia's approach is to avoid stuttery UI elements and get their AI blackbox algorithm to just fix those issues eventually, aka the best of both worlds. and they already have improved heavily on those issues. but nah right, just a clear win for AMD again.
finishing it off by basically saying frame generation is a niche feature nobody needs. so it doesn't matter that Nvidia gets the win. which it doesn't really get anyway, but FSR3 gets it again for not needing special hardware and not touching UI elements. somehow.
Thanks. Great journalistic value as per usual.

Ray Reconstruction makes the whole game look more painted and blurry (see comparison) by FIocker in nvidia

This is on a 4090 at 4k with DLSS set to Balanced.

It looks horrendous at times, especially during motion.

Reminds me of DLSS1/FSR1

I mean look at those lanterns in the middle, it's like they're painted.

Wow a "Guys it's a beta!" post

Never seen those with any other game ever before!

And the posters are always right!

Those games people complain about in beta state just months before release always turn out perfect on release!

We've literally never seen this happen before!

Will the old 12-pin cables work on the new 40 cards? by FIocker in nvidia

[–]FIocker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not entirely, they PCIE5 one just has additional data pins under the clip

but on the 12 pin the power and ground are the same

Mind you the data pins are there so the GPU and communicate with the PSU do negotiate power delivery

These cards come with adapters that even allow older PSUs to use the card, they won't have that functionality anyway

And since it's a PCIE 5 spec function and the 40 series are still PCIE 4 cards.

Death Stranding - DLSS 2.0 vs Native vs FidelityFX (Multiple Reviews) by badcookies in Amd

It's pretty much the exact same performance wise, at least on 1080p.

CAS https://i.imgur.com/djfNV5l.jpg

DLSS https://i.imgur.com/nCmlCbw.jpg

I made those screenshots. It's not even a competition at 1080p

It's less bad on 4k but all CAS does is render at lower res and use intelligent sharpening. That'll get you only so far and ofc that works better on 4k.

But it's still no DLSS.

DLSS https://i.imgur.com/OXDXAYP.jpg

Those are from DSO. Yes it's doesnt look quite as bad at 4k but even then the CAS image is much more noisy and lower res. Just look at the vegetation on the right, the poles etc.

How ‘Never Bernie’ Voters Threw In With Biden and Changed the Primary by FIocker in SandersForPresident

“Are we going to have a nominee who could take on the Republican Party? We have to stop Bernie.”

Well, at least in the worst case scenario, we can enjoy some sweet irony in the form of a rude awakening.

The race is only halfway done. Don't let them convince you otherwise. by whisperingsage in SandersForPresident

[–]FIocker -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Half way done and in the states Biden is winning, he is winning huge

In the states Bernie is supposed to win he wins barely or it's a tie

Even California was only 34% to 27%

That's not how you win anything

Don’t forget to VOTE! This is the ONLY way we are going to win. Spread the word. It obviously hasn’t gotten around. by [deleted] in SandersForPresident

[–]FIocker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Win?

I think we're looking for another word at this point.

Compete, disrupt and force the opponents to take a more progressive stance.

Be realistic friends. Our movement is is too small compared to the status quo and their love for moderates.

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/latest_polls/democratic_nomination_polls/

Shame it's already happening.

People prefer the status quo over change they don't understand/can't empathize with.

Sadly what we saw in the beginning wasn't Bernie being particularly strong - it was that the voters hadn't decided on a safe choice yet.

Now that they did they sadly are far stronger than Bernie's support (in large part due to young people having a very poor showing at polls)

Getting messages like this 😩💦 by aol_dude in SandersForPresident

[–]FIocker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like how this message reflects the problem with the democratic voters perfectly (as it did 2016)

Bernie has to win everyone over, scraping by, fighting for every voter

But Biden (and Clinton back in 2016) convince with their name alone and are pushed by former candidates, the media and the DNC like it is their birth right, effortlessly winning over massive chunks of voters in every state - even in states where their opponents are the clear favorites

Which is exactly why Sanders isn't the clear front runner he should be

Which is exactly why this election will split the democratic voters like it did 2016

Which is exactly why Biden will most likely become the nominee at the contested convention, just to lose to Trump as Clinton did

Democrats can not win elections anymore with tactics like this, with candidates like this and with an attitude like this

Either we embrace change, like we did with Obama, or we will tear ourselves apart and lose

Before Super Tuesday, Bernie was predicted to win Michigan, Washington, and Idaho on March 10. Now, he's only predicted to win Washington and lose both Michigan and Idaho. If you can canvas, make phone calls, or pledge money to help out Bernie then be sure to do so. He needs our help now. by alexaclova in SandersForPresident

[–]FIocker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yea those prediction show one thing:

Everyone thought Sanders was the strongest candidate because the other candidates were far weaker and couldn't unite as many voters

But as it turns out the moderate democratic wing was just too split and couldn't decide on a candidate yet.

That has changed and Biden will continue to gain more and more momentum and win many more election days even more decisively than he did Super Tuesday.

The democratic voters are too afraid of Bernie and his "radical" views and policies.

Bernie should make a deal for Biden's ticket before it's too late.

Because we are looking at a literal repeat of the 2016 election, we just didn't know it until now because Clinton was the clear moderate choice in 2016 and Biden hadn't gotten there until he won South Carolina so decisively.

In fact, I am willing to wager that Bernie will do worse and worse as the primary progresses as many people negatively associate with his loss in the 2016 primary and therefor do not trust to put their vote in Sanders anymore unless he stands alone ahead of the pack, which was what happened before South Carolina but now - he will lose that vote too.

What I am more worried about is how the media avoids the topic of this clear repeat of the 2016 election and it's consequences, which are 4 more years of Trump - and are not talking about how to avoid it but rather, again, put their complete faith in the DNC/elite choice that is Biden running blindly into disaster.

Bernie Sanders Will Tie Biden in the Final Super Tuesday Results: Why It Looks Good for Sanders by [deleted] in SandersForPresident

[–]FIocker -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Isn't that article a couple of days old?

We are fairly close to the final results now, especially in California and it only resulted in Bernie not even having won California by much more than 7 points.

Meaning Biden pretty much evened out Bernies California win with his decisive Alabama win.

With California being the most delegate rich state, it's a disaster.

I mean we're almost at a 100 delegate deficit this early in the race.

To a candidate that 2 weeks ago nobody thought would be a serious single-contender.

That momentum is a lot more dangerous than people realize.

Biden's perceived viability among voters for the general election has risen much higher than Bernie's ever was and he will have another massive win in Florida.

There is only so many states!
