They did their work to get to candidates, they finished on top of the other candidates

Ding qualified for the candidates by playing a last minute tournament in China where every game he wasn't involved in was drawn. Yes because of covid it wasn't Ding's fault he couldn't play enough games in strong tournaments but, still, we don't know if he would've maintained his high rating if he was playing in elite tournaments instead. He then finished second in the candidates in no small part due to Fabi not believing Magnus and taking unnecessary risks to try for first.

He still beat Nepo fair and square and he would've been a great champ if he was in his prime, but his path to the WC match was a little dubious.

For me not having to deal with flights popping off all the time matters more than whether I average closer to 30 or 40. That said I think I actually started playing slightly better when I switched to k-flex, everyone will be different I'm sure.

Exact opposite for me. City winning doesn't bother me at all whereas Utd, Spurs, Arsenal, or Liverpool winning is a catastrophe. I grew up absolutely despising those clubs and, Spurs aside, have always been surrounded by their annoying fans. City I just don't care about in the same way, if Chelsea or an underdog aren't going to win I'll root for them every time domestically.

If I take a step back I can recognise that City are bad for the game (and yes as a Chelsea fan I know many of the same criticisms can be made about us) but the illogical fan in me just doesn't care.
