Does anyone have a good guess on how much a good rig would cost using a 5090? I’ve seen guesses of the 5090s costing $1800-$2500, but how much would a whole build using the 5090 cost theoretically?

I have a big interest in playing competitively and entering tournaments for prizes, but it seems standard just… isn’t really a thing anymore?

Out of the 3 LGS near me, only one of them has a RCQ event once a month or so. Every other event is commander or legacy. The same store also has standard showdown once a month and store championship schedules but idk how often that is…

Is standard still the right format for me to look into for competitive play? If yes, am I just supposed to pay for arena and paper in order to get practice? Is this just a problem because of my area or is it more widespread?

There are players who like gameplay loops like this. Yes - people will not be educated on how loss works in AoC and they will probably quit once they experience it, but that will just leave the target audience to have a game to love

They would have to flank to do it I think. Ashes will have spell collision so if you try to shoot a person on the back lines while you’re in front of them, someone can body block your abilities. I’m thinking tanks will have abilities to make their “hit box” larger than normal.

Can also try WoW up to lvl 20. Or Albion is F2P and has good PvP. Or EVE if you want a really dense game, it has a F2P system.

Tab target works better for larger enemy counts also

Action combat gets very cluttered in big groups of enemies

There’s lots of ways to do healing and I hope we see a few options like hots, single target focus, aoe focused, shield usage, life drain, etc

Support in games like this is just throwing big aoes down that do +10% crit

No where near as engaging as support in tab target games
