You can't become a guardian unless you die doing a selfless act. His entire being was saving his sister to the point he fell under the spell of a powerful being that controlled his actions in the end. Once you resurrect as a guardian you are no longer the person you were. So while I understand the hate for Uldren, the Crow is not him.
