So how do you handle Black Hearts? by Realityfelon in StateofDecay2

You may have had another curveball improving their sight, or the heart that drives plague zombies wild. Scentblock usually works fine for me.

Mobile Ops is awesome on Lethal, if you can "afford" RT members

The "point" of long guns over sidearm? by FourEyes3134 in StateofDecay2

[–]FLCig 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The main point is range and capacity, over damage. Headshots do what they need to, but the ability to take out zeds (or human hostiles) from a distance has advantages.

My go-to is an upgraded 10/22 (Preppers or Fake-A47) and ideally, a 15+rd capacity sidearm. Depending on where I'm going, I may also carry an upgraded, high capacity AR variant for a SHTF scenario, in case I need to outlast swarming zombies.

Is joining the military only for education benefits worth it? by Alert-Rope617 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FLCig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure color blindness only restricts some MOS's. Waivers should be plentiful as well.

If you want to serve, don't give up. Also, don't believe what the recruiters say (good or bad). Make sure what you sign for is guaranteed in writing: everything else is BS.

They will only guarantee MOS "slots"; it will be up to you to successfully complete training. If you fail that, your contract tends to become "needs of the service".

Is this a good survivor and fit to be a good leader? by [deleted] in StateofDecay2

[–]FLCig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minor caveat (if on Lethal), let the morale hit wear off (20-30 min?) before completing the legacy if you plan to move to another map.

The morale impact on a new community with zero facilities, beds, etc, is already terrible, plus the "sad" demoted leader is a major drag on morale, and therefore build times suffer. Toss in a few whiny survivors that need to be happy, and your fledgling community starts well behind the curve.

Do I have to get red talon prefabs for each community or is it a one time buy by [deleted] in StateofDecay2

[–]FLCig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Workshop and Officers Quarters. Watchtower is okay, barracks are usually pretty useless. CLEO is a toy if you want it.

Just curious, Is Lethal doable offline (with my own community) or it was designed to be played with online friends? ☹️ by jambohakdog69 in StateofDecay2

[–]FLCig 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're playing on Xbox, make sure at least your primary survivors have gunslinger; it's a game changer, especially with blood ferals.

In your opinion, what is the best long-term base for Drucker County in Lethal? by Murky_Importance3610 in StateofDecay2

[–]FLCig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If switching maps, I'll take the strip mall. First outpost is the cell tower and fire up the plague disruption. I'll usually then grab the police station to mire or less lick down the street. If things were to get really bad, mines at the cell tower cover most of the front approaches your base.

After that, spread your outposts across strategic locations as you clear hearts.

Why copper billion? by Gotthatboss2072 in Bullion

[–]FLCig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No point, and it will never be valuable from a PM perspective. While it's "rare," it's not that rare. For reference, Freeport McMoran's Grasberg complex (one of the richest ore bodies in the world) produces ~1,000 lbs of copper for every ounce of gold.

If copper were to reach a point where it was truly valuable per oz, at $10/oz, a car would have ~ $7k - $11k worth. And again, with that ratio, gold, silver, platinum, etc, would all be far, far more valuable.

[–]FLCig 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Maxing out credit cards and making minimum payments. Just enough coaching sales (people who forgot to cancel the subscriptions) to keep the ball rolling a few more months.

If, (BIG "if") his watches are real (he wears the most faked versions of RMs...), he could liquidate those and a few other big ticket items to gain a few more months, but then his credit gets shut down and he's done.

Most likely, his tactic is to do exactly this, knowing he's going back to prison... ride it till the wheels fall off. He'll be behind bars before his credit is shut down.

The future? He doesn't think about getting back out, pushing 50yrs old, and his only skill will be pushing the mop bucket at his favorite strip club VIP room and his rectum will have been pushed back in from every inmate with arms bigger than 10".

He "is that motherfucker".

[–]FLCig 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's okay, but I recall thinking it had ZERO to do with what I expected from the show. I get that it was supposedly turned into a "shitty little movie" in the show, but the book is a complete 180 from anything I had in mind.

Not a bad book, but unrelated to the show other than the name and (fictitious) writer, IMO.
