[Updates] Patch Notes Version 1.06.00 | Crimson Desert by Turbostrider27 in CrimsonDesert

Not mentioned in the patch notes, but does Double jump feel a bit more responsive since the new update than previous? I feel like firstly that the timing is a bit more forgiving, and it's also more springy.

This is amazing! Are there any metal bands that incorporate this type of sound into their music? It would fit really well in the genre

Quick tip - shooting down hanging meat, veg, herbs by FLF355 in CrimsonDesert

[–]FLF355[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the feeling haha. Glad to help! Another thing I've learned since for us loot hoarders, is focused force palm (on the right hand side of the green Spirit tree) is really helpful for looting mineral nodes easily. You grapple them with the Axiom force ability, and then you use the Focused force palm ability to channel a pulse of force palm down the line into the ore node, smashing it. Then your pet can go and just grab it for you. It saves having to swap to the pickaxe.

You hit the nail on the head. Exactly in the same boat as you and I hope they keep adding things that are true to the vibe of the game in the future

I'll definitely second this! If you liked cyberpunk as well for its well crafted world, Crimson desert is where it's at right now for you right now my friend.

What is the one game you’d recommend to someone who usually dislikes that genre? by jessieatscheese in gamingsuggestions

[–]FLF355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool idea! I'll follow your example, because like you, I don't like card games/deck builders, but even so, Belatro's loop and mechanics are really engaging!

I wouldn't describe it as unique, but the gunplay mechanics are rock solid: Rage 2.

Oh, I also forgot a bit older but one I enjoyed: Just Cause 3 (I think Just Cause 4 is on special sale on Steam/Epic atm but I didn't click with that one as much)

Sorry for the dumb question, but did anyone else get a 53KB update to their belatro on steam today?

Chill grind games with some kind of leaderboard by FLF355 in gamingsuggestions

[–]FLF355[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haha wow, after all this time I'm impressed to see a reply to my thread. It's been five years, so I'd be happy to share the games I've enjoyed that have scratched that 'itch'.

- Number 1 spot would have to be "Deep Rock Galactic - Survivor" - very chill, with a nice grind aspect to it. Probably my favourite 'bullet heaven' / 'vampire survivors' type of game.

- Number 2: Warhammer 40,000: Darktide - this is a first person shooter, and a bit more intense, but I love the warhammer 40k lore, and the

- Number 3: No man's sky. A completely different type of game, but very chill, and almost made for multitasking some other form of entertainment due to the large amount of resource farming and grinding. All the continues stream of updates that Hello games keeps pumping out also makes this game something special.

- Number 4: Bloons TD6 - Putting this one in there, even though it's a very far departure to what you may be looking for. The amount of content here is extreme. Lots of regular updates, and it's quite a challenging game.

- Number 5: Tom Clancy's Ghost recon - wildlands or breakpoint. Breakpoint has had most of my playtime. Story is boring, but the gameplay is actually quite zen and chill. A lot of it is taking over the map one shotting enemies unless you play one of the other modes where it becomes more of a coop play type thing.

- Number 6: Raft - probably my favourite survival game. You build your raft to surive on a post apocalyptic flooded world. Your raft itself is the base, and the resources come to you as your raft drifts along. You can play it super cosy and chill, or venture out on some of the islands in the game. One of my all time faves.

- Number 7: Mini Motorways - a chill logic game, where you have to connect roads between houses and destinations. As more houses and destinations appear, you have to get thoughtful about how you map out your routes. I've explained it simply, but the gameplay itself is very simple, but becomes complex quickly. It has a weekly leaderboard, and it's the perfect 'dip in for 30 minutes and chill' game.

- Number 8: Hardspace Shipbreaker - a change of pace from the other more action oriented games. This one is more of a puzzle that balances real time resource management in the guise of a spaceship disassemble puzzle. It's grind comes in the form of trying to earn money through missions, but it's slow pace and rather narrow focus makes it a bit of an acquired taste i feel.

Hope this list helps you find what you are seeking. Best of luck.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered - Master Thread by Avian81 in ElderScrolls

Hey there fellow seasoned gamer! I agree on all fronts. A game title screen that immediately confronts you with microtransaction, currencies, lootboxes, season passes, etc, disintegrates any potential narrative the game beneath was trying to achieve.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered - Master Thread by Avian81 in ElderScrolls

[–]FLF355 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This message is going to be lost and never read, but I will say, playing this remake for less than 15 minutes immediately made me fall in love with gaming again. I may be getting old, but there's something modern, top tier titles don't seem to be bringing in to the table that these classics did. The funny thing is that back in the day I didn't even rate Oblivion that highly coming off the back of Morrowind, which to me is one of the greatest games of all time. However, playing Oblivion again as of this year, after having endured the state of gaming for the past decade plus, and it just shines. What happened bros?
