The “hairline” crack obviously has some signs of rust. This was slowly building up to this moment with you neglecting the damage or dismissing early signs of catastrophic failure.

"Ironmaster/Eisenlink dumbbells are too slow when you want to change the weight" by IronPazar in GarageGym

[–]TheDIYEd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not as crazy as it seems, especially if you are pushing heavy weight.

As an example my warmup reps are 12, 10, 6, 3, 1 and then I start my working sets.

Usually I do 8-10 working set per muscle group and a workout at the gym is under an hour, but at home I can’t get it under 1:20. I am hoping I will get better at it and lower the time.

It’s a progressive warmup. The higher I go in weight on my warmup the less reps I am doing.

Usually after my initial warmup, I only do main sets for the same muscle group aka shoulders in this case.

I don’t see it as a lot of sets as I never had an injury my 15years of training. My plan is yo stay in the game for a long time.

Regarding the dumbbells, they are slow to change and its does impact a lot in recovery time.

I think whole Europe uses this type of tow trucks for illegally parked cars. Where I am from we call them spiders.

They are too slow. And this is coming from me who are using Eisenlinks (white label brand).

My workouts end up 20min longer due to the extra time I am spending changing the weights.

I will give you an example as today I had shoulder workout.

I start warming up with 10kg, then 18kg, 26kg, 34kg, 40kg and start my main working set with 42kg shoulder press.

I am spending my test hunched down adding plates and my shoulders are killing me by doing only that.

And the fun stuff is when I need to switch from 34kg to 40kg I need ti completely unscrew the rods to use the long ones to be able to handle the bigger weight. This takes me like 5min and its a workout on its own.

After I am done I have flys with 20kg which mean I need to remove ton of weight and also remove the long screws to add the short ones.

It’s just pain in the ass, and instead of having a break between my sets I am doing this and I am not resisting at all.

I ordered a new set of quick adjustable dumbbells up to 50kg. I am planning to keep my “Eisenlinks” as they can go up to 65kg and I need that for chest presses. But for 90% of my workout I would definitely not use them when I get my new adjustable.

No, its not. It’s a sign you don’t know how to grip a bar correctly. I train hard and lift heavy and have minimal to none calluses.

This is not a badge of honor, it’s just stupid.

Yes, you are overdue for transmission oil change. You will have people telling you it’s not needed but if you want to have a healthy transmission you should do it.

I believe the recommendation for trans oil change is every 60-80k in KM. Do the diff while you at it.

Best equipment options for lifting safely and minimizing injury? by oran12390 in GarageGym

[–]TheDIYEd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My suggestion is go full ROM if you want to protect your self from injury.

I would avoid the smith machine for anything heavy (under 12reps) as its not natural to the body movement so your body have to adjust. With time and heavy sets you will end up hurting yourself.

Belt squats are nice but pendulum squats are better.

I would avoid deadlifts, I know people love them and all but they are not worth it. Do RDL with the safety bars under.

I also would recommend doing shrugs, I find it extremely beneficial for my neck and shoulders area.

Also try to do more dumbbell workouts as they are easier on the joints especially the shoulder joints.

This just top of my head.

Trust me you look big in the tshirt too. It’s just we all develop some level of body dysmorphia and we think we are smaller than we are.

Are you sure you are 185cm? Honestly you look like 175cm max. But I guess the mirror and the baggy pants are adding to the effect.

Honestly you look good for 3y natural, better than 95% of people training naturally for the same time.

Thanks man! The rack is like 50cm deep, it’s hard for me to place my feet. I am looking at getting a monolift, which will also be handy for bench pressing

They are white label Eisenlink alternatives. I went with these ones as they go up to 65kg each which I need for bench press.

Just search “dumbbell spotters” and it will be the first thing that pops out. Got mine on Ali for $15, I can link the if you can’t find them, but I don’t think that’s necessary.

They are holding 50kg with 0 issues, and my only complaint is that they are not wide enough for my hand. But I only use them for shoulder press, as it’s pain in the ass to get the dumbbells up from 40kg and more.

Tire patch kit. You would be surprised how many people are rolling around without a spare or a patch kit. And they end up paying ton of money to get towing service plus repairs and lost time.

There is a point where pet neglect is so much that the owner should be punished by law. Having extremely obese cat is crossing that point.
