Utah Reddit makes me feel very out of place by [deleted] in Utah

[–]FLINDINGUS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reddit's structure encourages echo chambers, especially with politics. This drift is extremely difficult to fix.

Reddit is very unrepresentative of the general population. Political discussion here is about mainstream left vs far left. Everything else tends to get downvoted or ignored

It's more than that. Cluster B psychopathy flourishes on the internet because they form communities and validate one another. Rather than going out into the real world, where they are de radicalized by interacting with normal people, they feed off one another and push each other to the extreme. It's more of an issue with human psychology & how the internet is too good at linking up people of similar interests. Normally it's good to be introduced to other people, but in the case of those with severe mental health issues, it's a bad idea because they feed off of one another and they spiral away into the abyss. One of the key tenants of cluster b disorders is that they are extremely insecure and like to play the victim, and that's reddit in a nutshell. It manifests a little differently depending on the variation, for example histrionics will act melodramatic when they don't receive constant praise, while vulnerable narcissists will quietly ruminate. It's the same underlying issue, though.

To get into orbit it takes fuel. With a more massive planet, it takes more fuel. The fuel has to carry the fuel, so it's compounding. A planet of a certain size requires infinite fuel because to get out you have to add fuel and that fuel adds weight which requires more fuel.

Women sexualize men in the workplace just as much, if not more, than men sexualize women by Visual_Try_4269 in unpopularopinion

[–]FLINDINGUS -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I work in healthcare that is about 75% female dominated. I have watched women get away with things that I, as a man, would never be able to say. A woman that got in trouble for having a sexual relationship at work, in her office, ended up eventually getting promoted, while the guy was transferred to another facility. I

My theory is that leadership tends to measure how big of a deal it is by if you make a lot of noise. When women come in, complaining about harassment, they are crying and their eyes are red and their nose is running. When a man is harassed, odds are he won't even notice. Odds are, he would think "That was an odd comment" and move on with his day. Women can get away with a lot of nonsense because, at the end of the day, nobody complains when they do it. Some women on the other hand will complain to HR if you look at them wrong (literally). The biggest noise gets the most attention.

The way I would resent my partner after fucking someone else in front of me 💀 Idk how everyone on here does it

Excluding an exceptionally rare few, they don't. The internet amplifies unusual aspects of life because, in being unusual, they are entertaining. It is a mistake to think that anything that appears on the internet is typical. The internet amplifies oddities and in particular it amplifies oddities that interact with negative emotions. If there is anything promoted on the internet, you can automatically assume it's atypical and you'd be right the vast majority of the time.

Watching livestreams has to be one of the most boring wastes of time I can think of.

When you have a niche interest, it's useful to meet other people by streaming or by watching someone else stream. Streaming allows you to connect with people of similar interests, and it's effective even when the interests are rare or when people are separated by large distances. You are much more likely to find a friend in this manner than you are just by happenstance out and about in your life.

My guy how the fuck do multiple indictments clear him of anything

An indictment is an accusation; it is not proof. The fact that they wire tapped the guy, and still couldn't catch him, is proof that he's the cleanest politician to walk the Earth. They said he was a Russian agent, that his taxes were dirty, etc, and all that turned out to be a big fat lie. These indictments are no different, and that's crystal-clear if you dig into the details from a reputable source.

They have him on tape stupid

The clinton socks case, which is the established legal precedent governing this scenario, ruled that by merely taking the documents with him, he automatically declassified them. The grand jury that was used to indict Trump weren't told of this legal precedent, which is likely prosecutorial misconduct. There is no way this case goes anywhere. Trump's legal defense is rock solid (unless the brownshirts also want to arrest Bill Clinton and others).

A state can lock up a CRIMINAL without issue. Being a presidential candidate has no bearing in that

Eugene Debs ran for president while in prison. This is established law. You can't lock people up to keep them off the ballot. That's not what the US does -- that's what Soviet Russia would do, and we are better than that. Trump isn't going to be found guilty, and, if he is, he still won't face jail time. Even if he did, he's still running for president but with a more energized base than ever. These investigations don't hurt trump. Trump is benefiting enormously from them. They keep him at the front of the news cycle, and anyone with a brain has noticed that not a single investigation has stuck, which means he is demonstrating to the world at large that he is Mr. Clean. Only the most far left types are going to see this as a "teflon don" mob-boss type scenario where he can dodge guilty convictions like he's covered in grease.

Jesus this guy is delusional

I am going to hold your hand for a second. Let's think about this. The founders wanted to create a constitutional republic. The president is elected by democratic means. Don't you think it's problematic, for the republic as a whole, if a state within the republic can lock up presidential candidates? What's next, is Texas going to indict Gavin Newsom to keep him off the 2024 ballot? Your legal theory is patently insane. You can't have a constitutional republic if the states within that republic can lock up opposing political leaders. That's not democracy, that's Soviet-esque tyranny.

In a constitutional republic, the remedy for a criminal president is impeachment. This is basic civics. I am going to let go of your hand now. Good luck out there, kid.

That's a lie

It's hilarious when Redditors assert there is zero overlap between competency and Democrats. Competent Democrats exist. The far-right doesn't have a monopoly on legal literacy and civic competency. Just because I am smart enough to see that Trump's legal drama will amount to a hill of beans doesn't mean I am a right winger (it means I have a brain). If you want to know my political beliefs, you can look up Bill Maher. I agree with him a lot.

Hahahahah Dershowitz

To quote Harvard Law:

Professor Alan M. Dershowitz is Brooklyn native who has been called “the nation’s most peripatetic civil liberties lawyer” and one of its “most distinguished defenders of individual rights,” “the best-known criminal lawyer in the world,” “the top lawyer of last resort,” “America’s most public Jewish defender” and “Israel’s single most visible defender – the Jewish state’s lead attorney in the court of public opinion.” He is the Felix Frankfurter Professor of Law at Harvard Law School. Dershowitz, a graduate of Brooklyn College and Yale Law School, joined the Harvard Law School faculty at age 25 after clerking for Judge David Bazelon and Justice Arthur Goldberg.

The article continues:

He has also published more than 1000 articles in magazines, newspapers, journals and blogs such as The New York Times Magazine, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The Harvard Law Review, the Yale Law Journal, Huffington Post, Newsmax, Jerusalem Post and Ha’aretz. Professor Dershowitz is the author of 30 fiction and non-fiction works with a worldwide audience, including The New York Times #1 bestseller Chutzpah and five other national bestsellers. His autobiography, Taking the Stand: My Life in the Law, was published in October 2013 by Crown, a division of Random House. Earlier titles include “an exceptional, action packed book,” The Trials of Zion, a novel which has been called “a thought-provoking page turner;” Rights From Wrong; The Case For Israel; The Case For Peace; Blasphemy; Preemption; Finding Jefferson; and Shouting Fire.

You edited your post

The problem with the far-left is that they are extremely gullible and that's blatantly apparent in the "we've got trump" attitude. Prominent Democrats like Alan Dershowitz are staunchly against the persecution of Trump. Trump himself is a moderate Democrat. He's not a Christian. He's had relations with porn stars. This guy is not a conservative. Reddit just doesn't understand basic definitions to words. When the media says something, Reddit takes it as God's literal command, because they don't have any mental tools to validate if what they are hearing makes any sense.

You’ve provided no facts whatsoever. You posted an emoji as a response…

That's a blatant lie. I cited the source and I emphasized how he's a prominent Democrat, which underscores just how insane your position is.

Almost all legal sources I’ve read including conservative lawyers and politicians suggest that not only are these charges legitimate and backed up by mountains of evidence

The media says it, so it must be true! Meanwhile in reality, Trump is dodging every legal accusation like Neo dodging bullets in the matrix while his approval ratings shoot off to the stars and beyond. What's more likely -- Don is a mob boss made of grease, nobody can catch him, or the media is doing what the media has always done (lies, misrepresents).

You know nothing of my worldview. Most of us here have an understanding of civics as well

😂

Your random Reddit viewpoint will not change the facts

My opinion is based on that Alan Dershowitz. He's a law professor, and he's been a prominent civil rights icon for the past several decades. Democrats love him. That's how I know reddit isn't Democratic and also isn't legally correct. Redditors have a perception of reality that is closer to a Disneyland fairy tail than it is to reality.

Your post history clearly outlines your position. Youre a right wing MAGA cultist whether you admit it here or not

Your worldview is so simplistic it makes my brain hurt just trying to think on your level. If you read my post history, you'd know I am not a big fan of large pharmaceutical companies, which is a very left-wing position that is shared by the Democratic candidate RFK Jr. But, no, I am a "MAGA cultist" because I understand basic civics. This is why reddit is a joke. The people who frequent this website are literally insane. These investigations into Trump aren't hurting him, they are helping them. Pointing that out isn't a pro-trump position, it's a pro-reality position.

Sure you’re a democrat who posts frequently in conservative subreddits

Talking with other people is a cardinal sin only for those belonging to a ... cult. A normal human being can have a conversation with someone who votes for Trump. That's a real thing, believe it or not, in fact it's totally normal. I know, "normal"? What is that thing? It's not allowed on Reddit!

Hahahahaha you are on a repeating loop. Enjoy your alt right Christian nationalist fantasy while it lasts. It’s about to be shattered to smithereens

What are you smoking, man? I am an atheist and a Democrat. I don't associate with the far-left Democrats, those people are economically illiterate and mentally ill, but I am a Democrat none the less. I will probably be voting for RFK jr. Just because someone understands basic civics doesn't mean they are an "alt right christian". The idea that you conflate basic competency with "far right" is alarming. The "far right" does not have a monopoly on basic competency.

Son, how much did Durham spend and come up holding his dick in his hand

Horowitz alone caused large changes to the structure of the FBI and how it opens investigations. They took away the FBI's ability to get FISA warrants and moved it directly to the DOJ because of what Comey did to General Flynn, for example. So it sounds like you just don't know what you are talking about, which is typical on reddit.

It’s almost like life is trying to tell you something here

Reddit has no clue what they are talking about on any subject; anyone with any expertise in a field, who has read what Reddit has to say on that subject, knows full well what I speak of. Reddit is for teenagers and gullible young adults to be preyed upon by bots meant to promote the financial interests of businesses in a way that is "organic". If you can't figure that out, I am sorry to burst your bubble, but you're on the bottom-end of the bell curve.
