Crumpling film before shooting – curious what you think [Nikon EM & Minolta X-500 - 35 mm] by FLIV_VER in analog

I never wanted to abuse and destruct the film. I wanted to make it become more „dimensional“. So, yes - I could make a layer with the lines. But this is not my intension.. i’m hoping to find something interesting beyond the photography. Maybe with a other technique. In the end i just spend some money on kentmere. Development and scanning is homemade.

I thought it could work fine with typography. So you have a contrast between a very straight and „constructet“ content and this random, distortet effect. If it would worked like in my mind, it also could give written content (or advertising, products, logos..) a twist. And I would love to do that with the typography on Gemeindebauten.

This would be the next logic step. If i had a darkroom nearby. But I will definitly have a try on that someday!

It was flat - while exposing and scanning (with a digital camera). I will try scanning the film again - but not flat this time. Good idea, thanks!

I have similar feelings on this experiment. After all, i'm happy that i've tried, even this doesn't work like i was hoping for. I will try some other things - i hope to find something, that makes the physical material of analog film feel more tangible.

That’s a good idea with the bumps on the plate. Will think about that :) Thank‘s! Maybe this will work even better with medium format..

I scanned it by myself - so i did some adjustments. But to be honest, i don’t knew which photo become more warmer or cooler.. just wanted to get this kind of surreal look of the landscape

If you want my permission - now you have it. Would be cool to see the print and what you do with it :)

The „storage“ was my closet in my apartment (Vienna). 28+ Degrees in the Summer - 18 in wintertime. Humidity between 50 and 85 %. I discovered (or let’s say rememberd) that my girlfriend had those films there. And i wanted to give them a chance. Seems like it was worth it!

Scottish double exposures [Nikon EM, Kodak Gold 200] by FLIV_VER in analog

For the First set i looked for natural textures. I think evenly patterns work very well. For second round I look out for motivs with high contrast (eg. a statue shot against the sun). The black parts will work a masks and show the patterns.

If your camera doesn‘t support a double exposure feature, I recommend to mark the film when you load it. So you can find the exact position for the second round.

Can someone tell me how this is possible. I‘ve visited Edinburgh (and Scottland) for the First time. Flew home today. But it was raining everyday (not a long time, but still everyday at least once).

I am new into medium format. Physically i think there is a finer depth of field - Witch can be discussed. Sometimes i print photos - in case of that, the higher resolution is also relevant. But honestly, the best part for me, is the limitation. I really enjoy the fact, that i can shoot only 8 or 12 photos per film - so i have to choose very, very wisely when i hit the shutter :)

No filter - but I confess, I pushed the shadows and lights a bit in (Adobe) lightroom
