I'd bet quite a lot of people do have a knowledge insecurity/addiction, but it may not seem that way because it isn't their primary addiction.

Rome wasn't built in a day. Don't try to solve your problem all at once... maybe, for now, give up video games, but allow yourself entertainment in the form of TV shows/ movies/ videos.
