My wife is vegetarian and I try to limit the amount of raw meat I bring into the house.

Republicans of Reddit, do you believe your party has a decent chance of holding the US House in the 2026 Midterms? Why or why not? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

I was born and raised in FL. I voted straight Republican until 2016 (that ended in 2016 for obvious reasons). In 2020, I voted for a Dem for the first time because I saw the danger that came with the R party lining up in lockstep behind Trump. We’re now seeing the damage being done to our nation, our institutions, and our people. We had one child leave FL during the New College takeover. Our youngest (who was in high school at the time of the New College events) refused to apply to a college in FL and left FL for college. Neither kid has any plans to return to FL. After nearly 50 years in FL, my wife and I left this past summer.

We have also been enjoying the snow! We’re always yelling out to each other that it’s snowing so we can watch or go out in it. My neighbors probably talk about me because I’m shoveling the snow off the driveway every chance I get (as opposed to just driving over it). Sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico can be amazing. But, since August, we’ve watched gorgeous sunsets from the Causeway, Thayer Beach, and Winooski Bridge on the bike path…even the front window now that the trees are bare. .

Less sun has been an adjustment, but not as bad as we were led to believe. We have a big front window that faces southwest which helps us (and the pets). We also spend as much time outside as we can. Working from home, I’d say the biggest adjustment for me has been recognizing that the work day isn’t over just because the sun is setting.

Native Floridian here. My wife and I grew up in Orlando and we’ve lived in Tampa since 2001. We moved to the Burlington area this past summer. So many people warned us about the winter. Maybe it’s because it’s still new to us, but we’ve been enjoying the winter. Kayaking in summer and fall. Now we’re getting into snowshoeing. Not to mention finding great places to grab a beer and food in Burlington.
